Art schools in SF for fashion design

Im looking into art schools in sf, the Academy of Art University and California College of the Arts. Does anyone know the pros and cons of one versus the other either pertaining to the fashion design program or just in general? i know AAU is a proprietary school but that that make it any less better that CCA? also CCA is more expensive... Also is FIDM worth looking into/considering?

If your grades and portfolio are decent, CCA will be cheaper than AAU by a fair margin post-scholarships. Especially once you factor in AAU's various hidden fees.

I can't speak for fashion in particular, but most programs at AAU tend to be very hit and miss. They have some great teachers, but organization within departments is terrible, often causing students to have large gaps in their knowledge base.

After high school I went to AAU for a year majoring in Fashion Design but dropped out because the major wasn't right for me. In that year I did drapping, patterning, created a few outfits, one of my classes our guest speakers were the Missoni's then after, we were invited to their fashion show. Sharon Stone was there, not that we got to meet her but it was still fun.

But this was like 10 years ago so I'm sure the program has changed since then.
