Since I'm always lurking here, and severely neglecting my 2D sketchbook, I thought I might post some of what I actually do as a 3D artist.
Starting with something I made for 3D Total's speed sculpting challenge.
that's some crazy lookin' creature man!!... kind looks like a prawn that went wrong... great job!!
Recently I watched "The thing" 1982 ( to remind ) and new one (prequel) from 2011 so I must say i have certain associations...
nice work.......you did really great sculpting....tell me something about you /....
bored at work while rendering..
Are you using Zbrush? The first one is very creepy, great work!!!!
like somethin outta my nightmares man
'd like to thank god for all he's done in this work. all this art we enjoy and love he makes so beautiful. It really is one of the greatest gifts.
A "quick" study of the skeleton.
I'm thinking taking it a bit further though..
I'm thinking, either a plain warrior, or some kind of a lich thing.
nice work...keep up the good work
As always, I neglect posting in any of my sketchbooks.
But, here's a wee snippet of a character I´m working on and off on my spare time.
Using the skeleton I posted earlier, I'm making a lich king.
But, First pic is his gauntlet, second and third pieces of ornaments and jewelry he keeps, and third, a shoulder guard.
And, I'm going a bit haywire with all dem squiggly lines.

Small update for tonight. This is the backside of his neckguard.
Finished the Neckguard tonight.
Will daz3d do this as well? This looks sweet!
I honestly don't know a thing about Daz3D. But, if it's got decent modelling tools and some sculpting tools, you could theoretically do this. But, I know that if you want to get your head into 3D for free, Blender is an insanely powerful (often frowned upon) program, which I think you'd benefit more from learning.
Been spending time today making some Alphas, since the whole "random Squiggly Lines" approach is a helluvalot reduntant, and not giving the visual 'pow' this character deserves.
So, Here´s a test (I know I have to fix the 0 position of them, but I'm too lazy to do it now).
I have more alphas to do though, but, I am having fun with it
Very nice work!! I'm glad you posted them. It's much easier to lurk sometimes.
But, I lurk because I'm lazy
His big shoulder guards.
Small update for the Lich.
Just a screengrab + quick comp of the finished staff.
Made a magic gauntlet for my lich.
Now, I'm pretty much happy with this guy. Even Tough I slappen a horrendous paintover onto him
I would like to add more stuff to him but, enough is enough (115.000 mill polies, by ZBrush's count)
Quickie to start the day.
I call it Pipsqueak.
holy shit that is a lot of detailed pieces. very clean too. how long did pipsqueak take you?
Yeah, I went a bit overboard with the lich.
Pipsqueak was just a quick sketch. About 2 hours.. But I suffered a crash about 2/3way in.. Lost a.bit there.
I've pretty much finished this dude, except for posing him, and putting him on a pedestal.

Just some spit and polish left for me to call it finished.
But, wanted to share.
