@JesseM Thanks, the Bargue stuff is meant to be so smooth, it's a whole part of that, getting the lines just right. But I'm glad you appreciate it. Yeah, I've also never been great with colors, I should do more studies with it.
Here is a julius Caesar Bust study, SADLY there was a much more proportionally correct version but it got lost in the wind, so here is what came before that. I'm not dead btw, just a busy weekend. More stuff to come, I'm just stuck in finals.
Thats coming along so nicely! I would watch his anatomy. His neck seems to be a lot turned to the back, I think either push is a bit more towards his chest, or make his chest turn more. Also is he dragging the thunder while floating, or are his feet standing in those clouds? If the latter (which I assume), I think it would make the impact of the idea stronger if you make his knees bent more, more like the starting pose a weightlifter takes when going to lift.
But really cool idea, keen to see how it turns out
@Overtoom Oh hey thanks man! He was standing in the clouds, I was having trouble making the man seem mystic with the rest of the clouds. I got a crit from a friend too, and remade the piece. But thanks for your words
AND, the new piece.
Loving the cloud studies! I also like the composition in your latest piece. However, I think it was a lot better with the pose in your initial sketch. That figure was a lot more dynamic and dramatic than the one you ended with. I know you're finished, but I think you could really make a great piece into a fantastic one if you made that change.
Yes, thank you for that comment. I quickly realized it while painting the second version. I've recently since been doing more figure studies. Though I'll probably not revisit that first piece, I'll definitly have more dynamic and interesting poses in the future. Thanks for mentioning it. Maybe I'll come back to the finished piece one day, right now I just want to do the next one though.
1 hour lizard.
Some great progression here man. In just 7 pages you've come pretty far. I especially love your cloud studies, keep it up!

@Chips wow thanks man! That means a lot coming from you. :]
OKAY, so my last post sucked. like a lot. So i went away and did some female figure studies, sketched around, and heres what I came back with. The next one will be even better.
those clouds are pretty cool.
Oh dude! Those knee studies! So good, so good.

I've been in a really tough class right now so draw time is rare for me. But heres some stuff. Finished that concept.
Ganon doodle, gonna do a full Ganon piece (hopefully) soon.
Your studies are incredible ^_^
@Capt Surge Thanks!!
@Rastaray Thank you, will do!
Okay finally finished up that difficult, extremely time consuming, class. And now I'm back with a little fun piece! WIP of course.
Just edging out the things I don't like, really a back in fourth of "Oh thats good!"... "Oh that sucks!"
So yeah, work in progress. Done when I say so!
wow your sketchbook is so awesome, specially the color studies ive seen all 7 pages and i must say that your rendering is improving like crazy, well you were already good but i can see youre climbing steps really fast, i have a question, how many hours a day do you draw?
@LionHeartGFX Well thanks for the kind words, always appreciate it !! As for your question, I don't have a specific number. I draw when I can, but between school and a job it's hard to really get that much time. Some days I'm free and I just draw until I can't anymore, sometimes I go awhile without drawing. Really varies. Put I've made it a personal rule that even on the busiest weeks I still put something up. Hope that helps.
Ganon is done! Gosh I put a lot of time into this one, but I'm really happy with the results. I mean of course theres SO much of it thats broken and doesn't make sense, but thats why I did it; to know what to work on for the next piece!
There were no thumbs, everything was on the canvas. Really fun way to go about things. Here's the how it was made. As you can see theres a lot of idea changes throughout.
Ganon is so badass, please do more Zelda enemies ^_^
@Capt Surge Thanks for the support, didn't really plan on doing much more though. I did Ganon cause I hadn't seen that version done, thought it would be something new to try.
So it's super late and I did a quick sketch, I was just throwing down ideas and moving things around and in the end it just wound up this blue chick. I wanted to have under lighting and a creepy mood, and I get this... ugh I need to seriously study up on things.
Hopefully it'll look a lot better tomorrow when I have a good mindset.
@Sam Carr Wow thanks man, awesome to hear that from someone who's been through all this. It's really great to hear that.
Theres just something so sweet about red girls.
