Illustration of the Week #29: Saturday evening Post Cover
This is a two week
This weeks topic is Saturday Evening Post Cover
. For decades the Saturday Evening Post had an array of some of the best illustrators of all time doing their covers. Many of the images are famous today, and made the careers of giants such as Norman Rockwell and JC Leyendecker.
Your job now is to create your own version of a Saturday Evening Post cover in a style reminiscent of the original cover artists
. Just as in the time of the real covers, the topic of the cover is up to the artist. Take a look at some of the covers of the past to see what sorts of things were typically painted. Remember that oftentimes the cover was somewhat relevant to current world events. The text on the cover is optional--include it if you want, but don't feel obliged to.
