Thumbs...? (as in all...)
My take on this week's
derekdedgell: The 3rd and 6th look rad!

Ok I think I've chosen the design I want to carry on with.
The Flesh Hunter is one of the most feared bounty hunters in the galaxy, not because he's particularly good at his job, but because he is known for eating the flesh of his bounties, saving only the head for the reward. Higher value targets have been known to be taken alive by this malicious hunter, but those are few and far between. So if you find yourself on his list, you better make a bigger name for yourself if you want to live.
Thanks for the advice guys. Im gonna go with little john.
I wanted to develop a story for the character so I tried to do some more silhouette drawings and figure out who he is in the process.
Little John: is a brilliant but unstable engineer, who is the most dangerous bounty hunter because he has the biggest guns. But he has to use an exoskeleton to be able to use the weapons.
Of course, he would be voulnerable if he was ever caught without his gear. That's why he lives in his armor like an ermite crab. He also never sleeps, but use implants and take drugs that allow him to stay alert. This lifestyle has some unfortunate side effects of course, making him more than a little twitchy and a danger to his soroundings.
Mine; a little cowboyish, with a biotech light extra strength very thin skin suit. He can connect to a super computer with his suit, and even backup his health!
Gotta love technology!
Still thinkin to add other armor, and change the cowboyish look!
All the best!
@derekdedgell I think I agree with cameli. Number six has got an interesting shape.
@panama66 the helmet is nice, but you will sacrefice a chance to portray the character if you cover his entire face.
@Tchuk Very menacing pose. I like how the silhuette is complicated but not confusing. and I like that you fleshed out the story.
Hi everyone! Nice work and fun topic. Not sure I've got any direction. I'll have more of a play after some thinking time... at the pub.
Some blogging - http://tomercs.blogspot.com/
These threads grow so fast its crazy sometimes! Awesome sheet everyone!
I'm thinking of doing a bounty hunter droid, might as well role with the star wars vibe and design in that universe. So I'm basing it slightly on the newer battle droids, and expanding on a new, high tech bounty hunter version.
Well hadnt had much time lately, but ill try to finish this one, on the left is the main composition wip, hes chasing after some fugitive that we dont see, tryed to make it a bit more dynamic than my actual drawings.. maybe ill make the spaceship on the background showing thats where he come from.......on the right the front view of him mixing a bit of sci fi armour, with some loose clothing so he can chase his "bountys"
for all of you, great works all around
My idea so far...
8smoku8- I'm really like number 4. interesting shape and you can have a lot of fun with the legs. Maybe lengthen the torso and legs so he looks more imposing?
Obstfelder- Little John looks great. You really get the feel of a little guy in a massive suit haha
I'm torn between 2 and 3...I keep envisioning the #2 as reptilian, and #3 I keep picturing dropping out of the sky onto bounties and buzzing away with them before anyone realizes what happened lol
This is uh, totally my entry, /cough cough.
All jokes aside, if y'all want to see how a classic pulled off a sci-fi Western with bounty hunting galore, beautiful action, wonderful character designs, and an UNBELIEVABLE amount of space ship designs, COWBOY BEBOP. IS. A. MUST. SEE.
Just wanted to spread the Bebop love to those who haven't yet seen it.
Thumbin' around. This topic is great. Bebop Rules!
http://www.characterdesigns.com/inde...page=photosets to start with) but at the very least his torso doesn't connect with his hips at all.
@cumquat I like the proportions of your character. I think number two stands out as the bounty hunter of choice
Some more thumbs for the illustration. Still thinking about how to present the character. Probably want to go more close up than these.
Obstfelder: I'm thinking of doing a helmet on/helmet off in the character sheet.
I got a bit distracted following a space background tutorial in ImagineFX but it's helped me figure out a light source and establish the values better.
Here's where it's at so far.
Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will.
In a bad mood? Take it out on my sketchbook! All constructive critique welcome!

Mine looks like a starship trooper...-____________-`
So the amateur with VERY little experience will raise his stylus and accept this delightful challenge...
hey All, I'm the Steamhat and I'll be hopefully joining you all on this awesome Character design challenge.
Let's say i'm thinking alien ... and a severe motive behind being a bounty hunter
Haven't been painting for quite some time, so rusty...
