Not the best I've ever seen, to put it mildly... but honestly, I don't find it bothersome. Doesn't take me out of the scene at all, and I'd rather they pour their budget into the locations and whatnot like they have been .
I simply must watch this Game Of Thrones!
Seems to be what all the cool kids are doin'. . .
Then, I'm gonna get me a "pair of pumped up kicks. . ."
I've seen like an episode. But lacking in the whole HBO thing to watch it. The closest thing I get is Spartacus. Which went downhill after the original actor died of cancer.
*Spoilers. watch yourself
I´m about half of clash of kings now. They did their changes , i´m not gonna complain about them, overall its really well adapted to the tv format but i do think it would have made more of an impact having Daenerys´s hair burn with the fire as in the book. A shorter hair for this season would have made her look more badass and marked a change between who she was before and after the dead of Drogo and his child, i dunno, she seemed a bit too pretty for the situation .
The dragon was quite good, Grey Wind and Ghost were kinda "meh" i admit, great settings, castings, amazing wardrobe, but the direwolfs have never been too convincing, still pretty good as far as tv goes.
that drogo guy was a massive let down. he just died. seeya then.

game of thrones is awesome :'(

Tells you to Watch Game of Thrones. And there will be a non-awkward silence afterwards.
All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.
Same here! The thing that bothered me is the Dothraki have a custom where you cut your hair off after a defeat.. and to me, Dany's hair burning off was a big metaphor for her - it signified a new beginning after she suffered a terrible defeat, lost everything, and had to start anew on her quest. If they didn't want her to wear a skull-cap for fear that it would look stupid and unrealistic, then I would have preferred it if she had cut off her hair herself in the Dothraki fashion.*Spoilers. watch yourself

But it's just one of those things.. the show's creators have to make a lot of creative decisions based on many factors, and we just have to accept that they're doing what they think is best for the show. /shrug
True, but then the fact heir hair burning off contradicts her statement of "Dragons do not burn"
Cutting it off, I can see, but with the way it is written...burning it sounds like a big contradiction.
Yeah , but hair is hair after all, it was a bit weird for me picturing hair not burning. It would have also been a good visual aid to show the passing of time, but in the end is a minor thing.
I finished Clash of Kings, and already have Storm of Swords waiting for me to finish this semester
Gods sake, Theon...
Oh that is nothing next to what happens in the latest novels. The whole line of proving Cersei and Jamie's incest by Eddard vanished plus so much other things. It was kind of a let down but things got so much bigger in scope in return.
**Spoilers.. don't read on if you haven't seen the end of the first season of Game of Thrones or read the book**
It's funny how in the first book, Martin sets up a few characters as being important, ground-moving people that you expect to last through the series and eventually come together (whether as allies or enemies, who knows), but they all recede and make way for those that appeared to be less powerful and therefore less important to the larger story at play. In the end, characters like Drogo and Eddard are not important in themselves; they are used to thrust other characters into the path of the story and set actions in motion. One could argue, for example, that Eddard's entire purpose in the story was to separate his children throughout Westeros so the story could pick them up and take them in different directions.
I didn't think it came off odd or contradictory in the books; hair is just dead cells after all, not really an extension of her body. But maybe that's just me.
"Its the thing that you love that will kill you" I thinks thats a constant.
Eddard´s honor, Drogo´s Khal Pride, Vinerys obsession with obtaining power, Robert being an stubborn drunk. It´s usually the character´s own traits that end up sending them spiraling down to their demise, in reality all of them could have avoided their own deaths.
I think Jon Snow is starting to remind me of Harry Potter, he is stablish as an underdog from the beginning (bastard this , bastard that) but as the story progresses he keeps on being a reference point for everyone around him, like he is very special among the rest. Even Samwell reminds me a bit of Ron Weasley.
I still don´t like Catelyn...
I suspect that Martin is going to pull a Jordan. The man is 63, five books into the series, and so far there is no end in sight.
People have been going on about that for years. Personally, I don't care if he never finishes the series; the end does no define the journey. With as many characters and plot lines as he has now, I don't think any ending he put on it would ever satisfy people. No matter what, they'll say it feels tacked on because it doesn't answer X, Y, Z, and whatever else they thought was super important and needed to be addressed.
Sorry, kind turned into a rant there I just hope he manages to keep ahead of the series because now he won't just have the book nerds after him but all the HBO fans as well.
You kinda have to feel sorry for the man. Sure he's probably is raking in millions, but imagine the kind of pressure he must be under. There is a fine line between being a beloved author, or a reviled one.

Just don´t go insulting ruthless war lords in front of thousands of his warriors, might not turn out so well in the end.
The "s" and the "n" are not even that close on the keyboard. A case of forum caused suggestion
Your right. This series is going to be hard to give a satisfying ending on. I just hope it doesn't go Battlestar Galactica on our asses. But so far George RR Martin doesn't seem reliant on raising questions without having an answer.People have been going on about that for years.
