Hello! I'm working on making a digital version of a painting I want to do traditionally. I know that someone as unskilled as myself should avoid digital painting if I have the means to practice traditionally, but the canvas I'm using is very big and expensive so I want to make absolutely sure I have the painting down right from the start.
I'm not sure what this lady is, by boyfriend doodled a picture of a lady with a lizard head and I really wanted to paint her for some reason. Main thing I want to get feedback on is the color composition- I can't decide if the bright rainbow background takes away from the subject or not. It looks interesting against her body, but I have a feeling that it makes her cartoony pink head stand out less. This whole thing is being redone traditionally so I REALLY want to make sure everything looks good before I get started. If something looks off in this version, it'll look terrible the second time.
