@ KONM : Cool! Thanks
That's two months down I think I'm getting worse ~
Worse? Are you kidding? Throughout your sketchbook you've made some improvements!
I wish I could let you look through my eyes so you could see what I see!
Also, is this the medusa for the teen challenge? Looks like its off to a good start.
@ KONM : thanks I'm feeling pretty good about my progress, but only every second day haha. Yeah this is for Teen challenge
tightening my lines.. should I be using reference for these pieces that are *not* studies? I feel pretty lost sometimes, but I don't want to end up trapped in some reference. Anyways..
You are always free to use reference so why not? It's always good since you expand your visual library with it.
And getting worse? Can't see that either. I just see, that you are a stronger on the paper - but who cares, as long as you keep painting there's a progress, right?
@ Eludor : yeah, I'm just afraid that in the long run it will impact my ability to draw anything that I can imagine, realistically, from my mind (my goal). thanks for the encouragement
Today felt AMAZING. totally felt all sorts of learning vibes from this. just short studies for legs and weight/stance, but really clicked for some reason. The top two are imagination and the bottom two are from photos. I do have one question though. In regards to the loomis proportions (8 heads) which is what I use for imagination, does it seem like I'm stretching my figures vertically? I enjoy drawing in real-life proportions much more, but 8 heads is sooo convenient for perspective that I feel like I'd be better off getting good at that as well. opinions?
BAM! linework done.. light + shadows comes tomorrow
those drawings is awesome
Still looking forward to seeing the Medusa done, and nice job on the bods in your latest post. Improving faster than me dude.
I gotta speed up (and update, haha). Keep going!
@ KyleWinslow : thanks dude!
@ KONM : thanks and yes please! update!
Actually.. color :p
I especially like the dude on the left in your latest update. And the medusa looks great.
I'll probably update today or tomorrow lol.
@ Kanda : Thanks
@ KONM : They're supposed to be the same guy X) I hate everything about that drawing except the head on the guy on the left haha Thanks!
Holy crap. wrote a 12 page paper from scratch yesterday.. didn't sleep.. almost slept through ~today~
When I look at it more now, they look like the same guy. lol.
Also, I was rushing a bit in writing a response to you. In the middle of writing the response, my mom told me to shut off my laptop. So don't listen to me, ha.
12 page paper? Insane. I'm home-schooled. I learn through an online school program. Never had one of my online teachers assign something like that. Kind of happy, haha.
Latest update is good. I like the outfit.
@ KONM : Ha. Me too actually, but I'm doing running start as well. It was for English 102 and I had like 12 weeks to write it haha
More.. I love doing stuff like this ~

I wanna see you paint one of these, or even flat color it. Kind of interested in seeing what color schemes you come up with.
I can't wait to see how Medusa turns out, I really like the value and contrast in her black and white version. I think her shading's a little monochromatic when it comes to her colour. Shadows aren't just darker versions of the midtones, they change colour depending on the colour of the light source.
Looking forward to more.
replies tomorrow.. got no time.
Finals are tomorrow morning, so I leave you with a quick self portrait:
Y u no make time to post more?
Also, finals. Ew. Finals. Just the word makes me cringe.
wow. that medusa is just great! the snakes, her arms, her face - all look awesome so far
So envious of your work. This sketchbook is what inspired me to go pick up the Bridgman book that I did and start my own sketchbook here on the site. Too many good things to say about your SB. Keep up the good work!
@ KONM : Here, for you I like the one on the right the best. Yeah, I had no idea you were a girl
@ Umbravita : Yeah, definitely needs work. Thanks!
@ WRappiii : Thanks
@ Art Minded : Woah! thank you! I'll keep pushing!
also HELL YESSSS DONE WITH MATH FOR LIFE!
Haha, don't worry about it. I don't think you were the only one who thought that.
Awesome! I agree, the color scheme on the far right looks the best to me. But the middle one puts up a pretty good fight.
And LUCKY. I didn't have to take Math or Science this year, but I think I might have to next year. Just History, English and Basic Art this year. This was my first year of online schooling.
@ KONM : Yeah, I think the left one needs darth maul tattoos or something. Maybe a trident. yeeaahh...
What grade are you in?
Panel 1 page 1 of a comic maybe...
I really like your art style keep it up!
lol darth maul tattoos.
Oooh, comic. I wonder what this will be about if you decide to keep going with it.
and I am currently in the 10th grade.
@ Kweckduck : Thank you. glad to hear it
@ Anthony D : Thanks!
@ KONM : you might get to find out in 11 more panels cool cool.
I am 100% done with that grayscale to color process. What a shitty idea that was haha. only real painting from now on
Also, I'm going on a trip tomorrow, so I probably won't be posting for a few days. Don't worry though, I'll keep drawing and make a stockpile post on Monday!
I'm back! I think I had a breakthrough whilst gone too!
Recently I was approaching my drawings from imagination as constructs formed from my various pieces of knowledge. like lego or something. I couldn't understand why drawing from life was so much more fun then actually coming up with stuff from imagination. Anyways, I realized that I should just imagine the picture I want to draw in my head and then draw it from observation. This is much more fun, and personally it feels like a humongous jump in skill. I still need to work on applying my knowledge of construction, but I feel like a jumped 1-2% in skill level because of this. HYA!
I would say more than 1 or 2%! That last sketch is phenomenal dude! Glad you're back, can't wait to see what's to come.
Keep up the good work!

Got my blood work, waiting for the results. If I have anything to do with it, I will get better soon. Some days are better than others. Thanks for the comment.
Also, you are killing me man! At least give me some time to catch up to you, haha. Huge improvement here! I agree with Art Minded, the last one is really great. I like the first one too, though. Were these done in pen?
