Wow, very cool style. I love your characters, it's really easy to see your animation background shine through your drawings.
this is awesome stuff . really strong expressions.
awesome character sketches you have here. Very interesting to look at
These are great! Fluid, smooth, vivid, lively, the works!
Keep it up, yo.

in love too o.o'

Top sketches there are wicked! Though I know the no-nose thing is kinda what you're pushing, something almost doesn't sit right with it on the elderly character... typically, elderly people have larger noses and ears (not always) as they are parts of the face that keep on growing til you die, so a complete lack of a nose on an elderly character threw a bit of a curve ball at me.
Good to see what you've been up to, keep goingggggggggggggg!
dlincoln83: Thanks so much!
BlightedArt: I didn't know our noses kept growing till we die! That's pretty interesting! As for the character, yeah I tried to add a hint of a nose on her, but I'm not sure. Her nose shows up more in her profile that I drew just now to experiment with. Thanks so much!
Just some sketches. I did some thumbnails on different environments, which was fun, though the one with the couch is baad! I'm trying to add some backgrounds to my characters.
Also..I'm probably having an art block, because these past few days have been slow with the drawing. Aargh!
I've stopped drawing a month or two. You are doing great!Also..I'm probably having an art block, because these past few days have been slow with the drawing. Aargh!
Art blocks are rough! When I get blocked up I usually fall back to studies, you don't need to feel creative to do anatomy and perspective studies. I'll listen to a book on tape and do some of that.
Another method I really like requires little kids- My niece and nephew (5 and 4) love when I draw with them- drawing stuff like dinosaurs in tu-tus, and ghost fish for them reminds me how much fun drawing is and not to take it too seriously.
Sometimes you get so caught up in improving and trying to achieve your goal you forget how damned fun drawing can be
k2mountain: Thank you! Oh wow! The most time I've stopped drawing was probably a week. Good luck with your art block!
rumpenstiltzkin: Thank you so much! Woow, 6 months? That must've been hard! Glad you got through it, though.
Rhubix: Thank you so much for the tips! I go to figure drawing class twice a week, so that helps me ease my mind from feeling creative. That is true, though. I always try and improve and never really just doodle for the sake of doodling.
Thank so much for the tips on conquering the art block! I think I'm doing a little better, now. I switched up my sketching medium. This time, I was sketching with a pen. I might color in one of those dragons, as well.
Later today, I'll post up my weekly figure drawings.
haha yeh, that artblock was really frustrating D: i tried so hard to draw but when i put the pen to the paper nothing happened... i just had to leave it be till it wanted to come back to me
ah really nice update too! i like the one with curly hair, and the last dragon alot! would love to see it colored
umm, maybe droopy but not bigger:Though I know the no-nose thing is kinda what you're pushing, something almost doesn't sit right with it on the elderly character... typically, elderly people have larger noses and ears (not always) as they are parts of the face that keep on growing til you die, so a complete lack of a nose on an elderly character threw a bit of a curve ball at me.
For me when I don't feel like drawing I try to do something unrelated like fun physical exercise, often by the time I'm tired out I'll be excited to get back to drawing. Even walks can be really helpful.
Your little mushroom men never fail to make me smile~ Sticky Vincent gives me the creeps too, good character design. Hope you're kicking your art blocks wimpy butt, always a pleasure to stroll through here~
Oh yeah, those little environment thumbs, do more like that for sure! I'd love to see your characters in more environments soon. I need to work on that myself :B
Keep it up!
rumpenstiltzkin: I guess stepping away from drawing is the best thing to do instead of forcing it. I was going to color one of those dragons last night, but my tablet said no. Haha!
Misplacedhippos: I didn't know that as well! You learn something new everyday! I like the idea of that! Thank you for the tips!
BlightedArt: Nicolas Marlet is probably my all time favorite artist! Love his work! I did take some inspiration from him.
AustenFM: Thank you so much! I'm really trying to kick this art block around. It's working a little bit! Yeah, I'll definitely do more environmental studies! Love to see yours soon as well!
Figure drawings! I always sit in one spot during class, so I tend to get the backside of the model a lot...
It's great to see an elderly character in your style, I love her. Just like the evil looking guy, I have a thing for evil looking guys *shrugs*. I'm still in love with your style, it's really refreshing to visit your SB every time I do. I was a little idiot not to come sooner.
p sage: Thank you so much! The class is really helping me out and I really enjoy it! I'm hoping to take the advance course in the spring!
shiNIN: Thank you so much for visiting! I really have fun drawing elderly folk because of their detailed faces!
Colored in a dragon sketch!
great to see some more life drawings! i still think you can keep the lines a bit more simpler, try checking out vilppu´s drawing manual for some really simple little tips on gesturedrawings!
and, the dragon looks great! its so much fun to see your cartoony style in colors!
