Hiya concept art peeps. Lurk here all the time and you guys know your stuff so I was wonderin' if anyone has any ideas on good books or artist accounts about being an artist?
My little sister wants me to teach her to draw and I've been stressing the need to acquire good taste, and that means reading the classics and learning a lot about past artists. I've plenty (barely room for anything else!) of picture books she can look through but what I really wanna get across is just the sense of wonder and awe that the path of art can lead you to. Somethin' about beauty and nature and truth, somethin' that'll get her excited about the process of drawing and make her realise its everything but a dull technical exercise to achieve an end, which is how she now sees it.
Any tips? Thanks!
