Digital Painting One: This unique and in-depth class features informative presentations and live demonstrations by Instructors Andrew Jones, Jason Manley and Jon Foster.
Through this class, students will gain a better understanding of a variety of digital media with key focus on Corel Painter and Adobe Photoshop. Additional tools like Alchemy, and Z-Brush will also be touched on. The core focus of this class is to make you a better digital painter with a full package of information geared to support students from beginner to advanced abilities. If you want to be a better digital painter, this is a class that will help get you there.
Students will be able to view the demonstrations, presentations and get feedback on their work both Live and On Demand, allowing for total schedule flexibility.
When: Jan 10 through June 17 2011. (classes will fill up, so sign up now!)
What day/time? Monday and Wednesdays 12-3PM PST (San Francisco Time)
Where: Right at your computer as long as you have at least a decent wi-fi connection. You can also study in the Austin, SF, Kansas City or Richmond POD's in person or join us in one of the new locations in San Diego, Orange County or Amsterdam ( 300 dollar monthly studio fee applies to in POD study, so inquire with us if you want to study in person).

Elements from this class are required foundations for all future artwork created by TAD students. Armed with this knowledge, students will be able to identify what is wrong with their own work, and will strengthen their ability to create cohesive and unified images with digital media. This essential class cultivates an artist's ability to create artwork in improved production times, enabling faster learning and creation from imagination, reference and life.
About Andrew Jones: Andrew Jones is the leading Fine Art digital painter in the field today. He performs digital painting in front of crowds as large as 40,000 and his incredible gallery shows are highly regarded in cities around the world. Previous to becoming a Fine Artist, Andrew was the creative visionary behind the look and feel of Nintendo's major franchise Metroid Prime as well as having contributions to other projects like the Transformer's films, where he designed the Ravage character for Michael Bay amongst others. Andrew is a founder of the non-profit ConceptArt.Org, Massive Black Inc, and is now the POD Director in San Francisco for TAD.
About Jon Foster: Jon is one of the leading illustrators working in the field of illustration, Fine Art, and entertainment today. He works masterfully in both traditional and digital painting media and brings an incredible level of skill and vision to all projects he contributes to. His clients include National Geographic, Tor Books, George Lucas and many others. Jon has been a teacher at RISD and guest artist at the International Art and Design Workshops for ConceptArt.Org. Jon is a proven educator with over 15 years of professional and award winning experience in the arts.
About Jason Manley: Jason is the founder of www.conceptart.org, www.massiveblack.com, www.conceptart.org/workshop and www.theartdepartment.org . Jason has worked in the entertainment industry for ten years as a concept artist, art director, and President with clients like id software, EA, Sony, Activision and many others. His works have graced the covers and interiors of every major games magazine and intellectual properties worldwide.
