"Skill is the result of trying again and again, applying our ability and proving our knowledge as we gain it. Let us get used to throwing away the unsuccessful effort and doing the job over. Let us consider obstacles as something to be expected in any endeavor; then they won't seem quite so insurmountable or so defeating." - Andrew Loomis

whilst i was painting my little finger curled in without my control and locked, it really worried me after i had cracked it back, and when i rest it on a flat surface it curls over, any idea whats wrong?
So all that aside. I thought i would go all digital today, didn't pay off , but i learnt a hell of alot about painting and how inconsistent i am
C&C always welcome
You really seem to dominate value, specially on these traditional anatomy sketches. And those textured armors oh my god, they look so damn real! don't worry about posting bad sketches. That's the whole point of sketchbooks, to mess up, and to solve problems. If people can see what your whole range of skills (bad and good), you are bound to recieve better feedback. Post more often! I would love to see more from you.

Alright so today has been stressful, i dropped out of college today.
I have felt for the year that i have been there that i'm not getting what i
i want or expected from a specialist art school, there were no drawing studios
with life models, we never did any painting or gained any practice from professional,
the tutors would expect you to have the skills just straight off the bat.
So i plucked up all my courage and left. So now i'm looking at the big scary world as my playground!, its quite intimidating as i know the amount of work i have to put in to achieve my dream. And you guys will be my source of critique and drive.
All you people at CA are going to push me. This might sound stupid but i've just made a diary of the year to come, i will be posting work on the diary and counting up my hours and experiences throughout the days...
My wrist has been killing me all day today and i dont know why...
I did a daarken study ,but i just couldnt keep my hand from shaking
which explains this mess of a painting, i have some sketchbook work too, ill scan them in later on.
This is all im going to be doing today as i need to give my wrist a rest!
Keep at it man, I just did the exact same thing as you on thursday, dropped out of my bachelor of visual arts degree after a year of frustration. For much the same reasons too, there was no skills being taught, just shitty 'modern' art thinking and ideas bla bla bla.
Anyway dude I'm liking the new piece heaps, and as they say just keep drawing drawing drawing and you'll get there. Not that I can say much...needa get off my ass haha
