Like many others I am a new artist to this site, seeking critique and views for my creations that are beyond the typical Facebook style favs and popularity contests of other sites such as DA and FA and so on. I want my work to be seen, and not viewed in a "Wow that's hot" or "OMG FAVd" or "Cool stuff" style where I get very few actual statements about any flaws and just the usual inane good or bad commentary from people who generally don't even know the first thing about art.
Now, I'm offering a warning... I am completely self taught. No art schools, no references, no guides. Nobody taught me how to hatch, or shade, or capture proportion... I taught myself. I haven't used art books, or classes, or guides to understand how to capture something. I just doodled endlessly and gradually became better and better.
Now, before you ostracize me over this, all "Oh this is some DA newb who probably does anime traces with lens flare bah he's not even professional *Condescending looks.*" just let me post a few images.
I enjoy critique, so long as it isn't "Just stop drawing". I know I have potential, I just need someone to show me what would be best to improve. And not in leaps and bounds mind you, just... gradually. Small additions which will make it better and which I can build on. I do not believe myself superior, everything on this site is far better than what I can do... which is why I want to reach that level myself.
Anyways, I draw pretty much everything. Characters, backgrounds, devices, abstract, whatever. But I'm probably going to display my landscape works for now since my character works are obviously influenced by animation and a bit cartoonish, not like the realistic works I see on Concept Art.
So, hope my potential is good enough for all of you. :3
