This is the animation that I made for my Undergrad thesis in Painting. I posted a really rough version of this a while ago, but after a few months of work, here's what I've come up with. I've never had a formal class in animation, so everything I did here I kind of had to figure out along the way. Please feel free to comment... suggestions and opinions are most welcome.
Your layouts are certainly working for you on a pro level. Just wish there were more progression and animation in the piece. Also you've got some good concepts and overall this seems more of a concept on an animation or an animatic for further development. Once your animating I think your characters will be more interesting as well. Try to get a character sheet going where you draw the guy from a bunch of different angles. Then you will have a better idea of what the guy can do and what you're story's gonna be about!
thanks! Yeah, the character animation was definitely where I ran into problems. I really just wish I could have spent a whole extra semester working out the movements/character.
Outstanding creative choices in the audio. While there was obviously a lot of work put into the visual elements, the sound "marries" well with them, and goes a long way toward selling the narrative.
I got the feeling of watching something like those Aeon Flux or The Maxx episodes on MTV back in the '90s or so. I was especially impressed with the computer interface elements animating 3-dimensionally. The special effects got the job done without being distracting. This did not come across to me as amateur work at all. Well done!
Thank's SuperScroggz! That's really encouraging to hear!
Also, I just noticed something strange. I randomly checked the youtube url for an animation I did over a year ago, and saw that cout-mecha (I assume this was him) commented on this video about 6 months ago. Huh... the internet's a small world.
Here's the link to my vimeo upload of it:
enjoyed that, I noticed how you added nuerons in there too. Virtual reality?
Good stuff man!
