Looking really good shimish. I'd love to see her with all four legs on the ground. I'm thinking that her back might be a bit distorted but I can't tell cause she's standing on two legs. I really like the fact that the woman do not look anything alike. But two things I notice right off. 1) there is a striking contrast between the color of the horse part and the color of the woman's skin. They do not blend. May I suggest that you keep her hair dark but lighten her skin to blend with the tones of the horse. 2) when the two woman are side-by-side it looks like the body of the horse is very small, like that of a small pony. It may be that you might have to enlarge the horse portion to reflect a more accurate composition/perspective. I can't wait to see her animated.

Hi, Razorlear. Don't mind my asking, but is your middle name by any chance "INSPIRER".
I really appreciate your feedback. To address your observations, I did a quick render. What do you think of the skin tone now? Regarding her back, is the pose more convenient for study? Also regarding the body mass of the horse part, the thought actually crossed my mind, but I was not sure of which side of the fence to stick to. Being that I haven't had much encounters with live horses, maybe you can help me out.
Should it be more massive in size or simply taller/higher?
Thanks once again for your comments.

In my opinion this is much better. And she is such a nice contrast to the girl next to her with the darker skin. As for horses, well a nice size horse with his head up and standing tall would be in the area of about 7 or 8 feet tall at the ears and about 5 feet for the back when standing on all fours. I hopes this helps. I think you have nice proportions on the horse it just needed to be larger to accommodate the scale. And the arch of her back is nicely rendered too. I am looking forward to seeing them both animated together.

Hi everyone. i just worked on the horse part of the centaur. as you can see the comparison in the test render, the scale of the human part remains unchanged. what do you think so far?
also, i summoned up courage to do a test animation render, but it still looks like i am missing something. I'd really appreciate your impute here.
Heres the link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMlKaEhugL4

Really nice shimish! I watched the animation several times and one thing sticks out. You have the opposing legs working at exactly the same time. I do not think this is entirely accurate. I would suggest that you watch a few videos on the movement of a horse to get the timing just right. A horse does mainly three things - a walk, a trot and a run. In each act the leg movement is different. But for the rest you are doing very well. It is hard to comment on scale when there is nothing to compare it to. Would it be possible to post a pic of both girls standing side-by-side.

Here you go. Will these do? Regarding the leg movement, im a bit unclear as to what you mean. could you elaborate a bit.
I'll assume that you are referring to the front legs (am i right?) at what point of the animation did i miss out on the detail, or was it the entire thing. Thanks

The scale is great shimish!

As for the legs, it is hard to explain but I will try. In the animation you have the back right leg moving in conjunction with the left front leg. This only works well with some movements of a horse. It is not always the case. Its really hard to say more than that sorry. I can only suggest you study videos of horses. But good luck cause this is coming along nicely.
