final touches?

hi everyone. so far i think this drawing is pretty much finished.....( except from maybe some refinements here and there) but before i officially call it finished i would like to hear if anyone could point out something that i might be able to adjust or improve in this drawing?

I'm not sure if this was your purpose, but perhaps making the tree in the background look sharper? It seems smudged. This picture is very pretty.

Pretty nice so far! I think you could still push the rendering a bit further. The Woman and parrot look really nice, and I'd like to see the elephant, Rhino, and Gorilla be brought up to that level, they look a little flat at the moment. The Gorillas face could use some love too.

The only part that bothers me is the flowers at the bottom. They look nice, but seem so out of place with the African theme. The colors really draw away from the beautiful red/orange/yellow palette you've got going. In my opinion if you replace that area with something more related it will add so much to the image.

Good luck and show us an update if you decide keep going! it's almost there!

The animals could use more texture.

I think adding more textures to the animals would definitely help, I think you should also render them out as much as you did the lady.

Also a suggestion would be to add a hard black outline around the lady to make her pop even more against the smugey tree and give it a very graphic/ pop art look.

First of all I want to say that this is a beautiful piece of work bluemonika!

It’s certainly a powerful piece. The colors are dynamic!

One thing that always comes into play when doing artwork is, is the piece for a client? Clients mean time restrictions, so sometime the nip-tuck part of an artwork has to go undone.

I’m not sure about your work here, but if you have the time there are a few areas of touch-up that may help out.

Ok, the tree. I agree with Marlo. For some reason my eyes keep bouncing up there. The tree could be dark-enhanced a little bit and the sun not so brilliant.

Another thing, the flowers at the base could use a bit of sharpening.

The leading feathers on the right wing of the parrot could be extended a mite…

Like I’ve said this is a great looking piece as it stands now, if you have the time and want to….these are some areas to look into.

I really like it!!

Bruce
