Island Getaway

Hello all -

I am working out a new piece and was looking for some fresh eyes. I have done the speedier parts of the basic island and some bits of an alien ship cruising in on the down low... I realize the composition is a bit odd with the bulk of the piece being a nice island scene with lots of front area being random foliage -- perhaps that area gets some kids watching or something.

I have many ideas in my head for how to approach this with smaller ships moving outward from the top right corner comp but I am also diggin' for some other ideas you fine people might have too. Fire away. I havent done a serious concept piece in 15 years and certainly not on a digital canvas. I am more of a fine art hands on guy. This is pretty fun though so far with my minimal photoshop skills and brush collection. I have worked a couple parts more than I should have at this point but I couldnt help myself.

this looks really good! the only thing i dont really get is the angle ( and.. kinda the whole ''ship'' of the alian ship.

is it like the block ships in ''hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy''? (lol 42)

I guess it would be a big block ship... like a huge bugger but just the tip of the iceberg in a way. I figured I'd maybe have super small assault ships leading out in a fan type arrangement moving towards the island itself... balance the comp some.

killed off the lower area to balance the focus up towards the invasion ships. needs surfers or native people witnessing the event in the foreground perhaps? water disruption under low flying ships...
