No it is not a joke, it's called CONCEPTUAL ARTWORK, have you heard of it, or have you been living under a rock for the past decade?

This section is for constructive criticism, and if you don't have anything constructive to say, then take your negative vibes elsewhere. It's not my fault you lack the visual literacy required to appreciate works such as this.

This is not strong enough to stand on its own now - all I see is a badly photographed apple in plastic foil. You might want to think of a way to present your concept better, more clearer, maybe in relation to other work.

The problem is and I have with it.

1. It's your very first post.
2. You don't introduce yourself.
3. And present it as professional work.
4. The foto is either too low resolution or the focus of your camera was totally off.

It's how you present it as a whole. The attitude of your post.

And yes, maybe I am not too openminded when it comes to these kind of art(?)....

... when all I see is an eaten apple, wrapped in plastic foil, placed on a wooden table(?) and photographed out of focus.

So I am sorry if you feel offended. But there are so many A-holes on the internet that make fun out of artists.... that the way you presented this (and also as your first post)... that I thought that you were one of them and that this was a joke. Yes.

Yes, I agree that the photo is poor, I do not have very high quality photography equipment. I can't take another photo because the artwork has been sold. This is what I mean by professional, I am not trying to imply that my art is of a higher standard than anyone else.

Maybe its true that all you see is an eaten apple wrapped in foil, but is that not the nature of conceptual art. It is both its downfall and its brilliance. Hirst's The Impossibility of Death In The Mind of The Living is only a shark in a box if you want to look at it like that. But if you choose not to, it opens up a world of possibility.

I'm always annoyed by pretentious posts of paint splatter or "conceptual art." But... whatever. If the art community (whoever that is) decides it's art then I guess it's art. I just don't find it very inspirational, and it looks to me like it really doesn't take much talent or skill or practice. It also depends on one's ability to B.S. about its artistic merits, its "meaning," the feelings it evokes and so on. Of course, if you can find some wealthy customer who wants to buy it, as some of these artists do, then I guess that makes it art. Okay, so I have some strong opinions about stuff like this, but to each his own. Peace.

you are an artistic fuck wit, i will not pretend you are an artist and make my self look as stupid as you.

you don't have a good camera? but you are selling work? i cant believe you even stuck around to discuss that monstrosity of an image. you are the reason the art world is collapsing.

conceptual art needs a concept, not a shit idea you could of picked out of a baby's dirty nappy. you insult me, you insult your self and you insult any artist trying to better them selves. try harder & grow up.

I still think this is a joke and we are being messed with.

I am an amateur photographer since I was a kid. Worked with all kinds of old and crappy stuff. Even cheap throw away camara's in a carton paper.

Never had problems making a clear and sharp pictures with any of them.

He has a completely anonymous profile, doesn't say anything about himself.

So I think he is messing with all of us.

Especially when you look at all other stuff from people in this forum. Then yes I agree with above posters, that this topic is pretty much an insult to this forum.

I also cannot believe that someone would actually buy a rotten eaten apple in a piece of plastic foil.

Any chance you could send the contact details of the buyer? I've just finished my lunch and I reckon there's a couple of masterpieces in my lunchbox...

Haha, I love how people get so angry by conceptual art. You all think "I could do that", but the point is that YOU DIDN'T DO IT. I did it, and I succeeded in creating an artwork that exemplifies the envelopment and suffocation of nature by the synthetic, the man made. With one simple artistic effort I addressed one of the most important problems we face today, what have you people done that even compares to that? Revolutionary artworks are almost never appreciated in their own time.

Millions upon millions of people have adressed important problems of their time with art. Furthermore, proclaiming that your work is revolutionary and requires high visual literacy reflects very, VERY poorly on yourself (even disregarding the fact that this has been done thousands of times in some form or another, and is very easy to understand). With that attitude you will turn off every potential buyer or client you ever meet. And that, quite frankly, is something you can't afford to do when all you have to offer is artwork of this low level quality.

Hirst is an over paid JOKE and for you to even bring him up makes you a JOKE. You don't have the intelligence to create an artwork that exemplifies the envelopment and suffocation of nature by the synthetic, the man made, neither did Hirst. All his work was stolen from medical periodicals and his painters and sculptors he employed.

This is obviously a bullshit thread. What I wonder though, what kind of an empty life the threadstarter must have to reuse the same fucking joke for the umpteenth time.

Find some new material instead of trying to shock us with deviantart mentality.

Maybe do a video of yourself knocking your head against the wall until you're sent off to the emergency room.
That at least would be interesting.

Beautiful artwork. Sanzio has no clue how to create conceptual artwork. Its not who creates it first, its who can create it well.

Oh and lets feed the troll. The only reason we didn't think of it first is because we do it everyday for lunch. Not sure where you got the idea that you was the first person to do this. And even if you were it still does not make it art or you an artist. You need to practice drawing more, especially learning to use a camera.
