hey folk,

there, time to start a new sketchbook. the old one is somewhere in the void of this wicky wacky awesome place.
serious now, there is soooo much great stuff to see here, I have a hard time thinking straight and focus when I´m around
anyway, since I started my new blog yesterday and I have a lot to show that is not quality stuff (not that I have any quality anyway haha) and sorta belongs here, I figured it is time to join here and post on a more regular basis. At least that´s the plan...
So I star with studies of nudes, sketches, OM studies (rafael, loomis, hultgren, hogarth etc.) and some inks.

Pretty cool work so far! There are some figures that look really nice, though I'd like to see some of them a little bigger. Keep it up!

thx avisnocturna, bigger would be cool, but I try to keep the filesizes low to make it easier for people to load the lot

on to some master studies in oil, some rubens, sargent, photos
the last one I´m working on right now, what you see is the underpainting on charcoal, now on to some glazing for establishing color and finishing with some opaque lights

ok, last ones for today;
some unfinished oil paintings (the egyptian nude is a study of Sargent, the skull is still life in the workz), and my very first two charcoal drawings. damn, that stuff is weird when you only used pencil for years. quite a messy business.
but as I´m more and more into painting, the technique and approach with charcoal is more natural and complemental to painting.

oh, and the last one is a value study on tracing paper. very handy stuff, you don´t need to prime it, as the oil doesn´t sink through the paper. excellent for fast sketching.
using burnt sienna and sparring out lights.

Oh my god. Well, since I can´t crit, lets just say its all pure awesomeness. Awesome colors, lovely sketches, wonderfull portraits.

Plus, the Hellboy was never redder than this. *Runs away*

ok, so here are some 20min doodles from today, really bad I admit haven´t scribbled in a while. Next step would be cleaning them up, I will try to do it digitally.
also, I thought maybe some of you are interested in calligraphy, so here are some experiments with ink on paper.
