another sketch. some kind of future mech-cop. Background is obviously still pretty much in the works.
Great stuff on here, I'm seeing an improvement from you all the time. More focused as you go along. I really love your style, it has a certain uniqueness about it. Keep going!
Your color sense has greatly improved since page one, as has the amount of detail in your pics. It's awesome to see the improvement in such a short period of time.
I love your Watson for last week's CHOW.
Keep it up!
InFlame, Pseudocognition: Many thanks And your only as good as your last painting eh? So I'll definitely keep on pushing.
Hey man, you've got some good work here, nice variety!
thank you, much appreciated
here's a bunch of images. Some doodles, some chow stuff and an update on the cd-cover stuff I've been working on. (the 'baby-machine' is going to be the inlay)
today I helped a colleague out by making a custom feather brush for painting a parrot (albeit a very wicked one) which got me into custombrush mode again, which in turn ended up as this sketch.
anothersketch. still looking a bit dodgy, because I started without creating a new layer, but I'm planning on developing this a bit more.
jeez, it has been more than 2 months since my last post... Well, I have been busy, so here's some stuff
hey mate . just went through the whole of your sketchbook and your improvement is coming in leaps and bounds! Especially colours and your digital painting etc. Its inspiring me as Im lookign to go back to school and brush up on my art.
keep it up!
Hey man, thx a lot. And yeah, I'd like to think I learned something the past year.. at the cost of fresh air and sleep but hey, it's gonna be worth it in the long run.
Here's some more stuff:
your versatility is pretty impressive. tons of entirely different characters turned out at a good pace.
one suggestion, consider the ambient light sources more than the direct highlights. atmosphere creates the image, highlights direct the focus. the first girl from your last post shows this thought process at work and executed pretty well. with some of your other recent work, you've highlighted every part of the image and inadvertently flattened it out in the process.
anyway, keep up the good work!
Sourgasm: Thank you very much! A background is mostly an afterthought in my character work, that's why the lighting can be a little flat and inconsistent throughout the image. I recently started to colour my images image with an overlay and from there work from almost monochrome to a more varied colour scheme, which keeps things more consistent and less highlighted all over the place. And I try to keep the shifts in values and contrast a bit more subtle. So yeah, I know where the improvement lies
Joey-B Thaaaaaaank you. I try and do my best
You've made enormous progress in a year Pixeltuner! Your stuff is awesome! Keep it up.
It is really really cool to see how much you have improved and how much your style has taken shape since the beginning of this sketchbook. I especially like seeing the side-by-sides with the linework and render, very interesting. =)
Crits, Advice, and Feedback always appreciated.

Djinn, Veherin: Thx!
jatherip: hahahaha, I try not to look at my first pages anymore or else I'm heavily tempted to start a new sketchbook And I'm still far from where I want to be.
That said, I need to update this sketchbook a lot more. Sketches ftw!
