Really cool drawings. Good fog effect. Maybe some more detail would be great. Oh and if u have time can u check my sb, i'd like to get some tips from u.
A new painting of Gandalf, I finally "have" a scanner so more will most likely come soon. I have an Ent that will most likely be done by the end of the day too.
throtailer : Thanks for the comments, the fog effect is due to laziness/not really knowing what to put there, as I said more detailed things to come.
I like the dimensionality of the Gandalf drawing and the top two paintings.
The Ent drawing gives the feel of a watercolor painting with ink over it.
Keep at it.
your linework is really nice! i'm not sure if you're just starting out or not, but if you're looking for improvement, you could start by adding some texture and depth to the gandalf piece; it's certainly good but think it needs a bit more work 'cus it's a bit flat adding something in front of him might make it more interesting as well.
good work so far tho!
You are doing a good job with creating atmospheric depth,
something that I have to work at.
Working from reference is not cheating.
Neither is using bits and pieces of copyright free imagery.
Just be sure to actually paint them after you have them in place.
For more of this technique, check out mattepainting.org
Some new sketches, some for class some on my own
Towel. From observation for mah drawing class.
Trying to get back into drawing people. For vikings, are intense.
Got this idea from someone else, drawing Roman busts, more to come with this, they're very helpful for facial features.
Meant to put this up last night but didn't get a chance. Its possible artwork for my band.
Here are some drawings from a figure drawing session.
ph33r to draw t3h p33n.
First sketch of the day, trying to get a good technique as this was my first figure drawing class wif n00dz.
This one was hard as hell to draw.
And last one of the class, was getting frustrated and attention span was fading, so this one isn't that good .
Some new stuff I've been working, will try to get more frequent posts going now haha.
and if anyone can please give me some tips on how to paint forests better PLEASE tell me or link me to something that might be helpful, I like completely blank when doing forest scenes.
Peppers and Snakes for my drawing class at skewelz. I did/do quite enjoy the snake ones that I did one from memory, which is the last one of the snakes you shall see. The bottom drawings are crimes against humanity, IMO, but thats the whole point. Drawing 1 is A common American man walking in his suit jacket and tie with no pants on flipping his wife off, looking strangely like Marylin Manson with his new Asian Balloon girlfriend. The bottom-most drawing is of Lursay Sampson, a close relative to Burt Sampson and Hummer Sampson as well as Merj Sampson.
crappy light study.
cuz i need it
chaos warrrrrrior lulz
Just some drawings i did for my drawing class.
HOW DO ALL? I KNOW YOU MISSED ME BIG TIME. Well, updates will be more frequent, as I will be having a more constant sketchbook, which evidence of said sketchbook will be uploaded and proven with pics, as it is told that "pics. or it didnt happen". Anyway, I got a Cintiq 21UX which is amazing, and I have started reworking old crap and doing new crap.
This would be an update to the old chaos dude i was painting, needs moar work, but yeah, just an update.
This is for a potential graphic novel set in the Warhammer 40k universe.
axe detail for same novel, gonna rework it a bit
pure dicking around
moar dicking around.
would be lovely to get some comments on any of this. At SVA in New York now, and liking it much more than my previous school.
Did it for a class, and the lulz
Hails all, all of these drawings are from my current sketchbook, got a lot of stuff in hya.
Started off with some DaVinci
This one was for homework
Some Warhammer Online funtimes
Did a lot of posemaniacs things
Then some Bridgeman's
And this one after doing Bridgemans from memory
Oh yeah, and this
Hails all. I just did some paintings from reference, got the idea from a perspective thread here, I was just trying to get the overall feel of the painting and not any of the smaller details, also trying to train my eye better to see color for what it really is rather than what my brain thinks it is
if anyone can tell me how to paint grass more detailed that would be great, because i can seem to get the basic colors down but i cant quite make it look like grass
oh and thanks for the comments jedi
just continuing with the whole environment thing, gotta refine more
Hey, really good start! I think there's an inherently good potential in the linework shown on your post for September 10. The new anatomy studies are coming along well but remember the goal isn't to master Bridgman's line style but moreso his technique and fluidity in forming the studies. Focus more on the forms as three dimensional masses, and less on recreating the exact same style you see in his work!
Keep drawing! Good stuff going on in here.
Hi all, I need some help with colors on this one, I'm trying to make this look like an overcast sky, if there are any links or anything anyone finds handy for such lighting let me know, any crits are welcome!
trying out doing some thumbnails, pretty interesting results
oh lawd is dat sum schnabel von romz?
o lawd is dis sum self portrait?
IanE Thanks for the comments, the bridgeman comment is quite helpful, ill try to think about it more like that from now on
