This is a drawing I did for a concept art assignment at school. I already met the deadline so this is the finished sketch, but some crits can never hurt. I'll show you the whole process from thumbnails to sketches to final drawing. Enjoy.
I really like all of the effort in stages and gathering of reference that went into this piece. I think the final image is cropped too close - I can't make out the tiger easily. Also, the shape of the tiger and proportions are off from the reference in some of the sketches. Also, watch the anatomy on the character's left bicep and deltoid. Overall nice job, maybe coloring it would push it to the next level?
My sketchbook is here
Very nice work here FantasyArtist, using reference for your drawings is very important to obtain the right effects [something i should do a lot more] anyhoo the idea's are all very good as well as the level of drawing. Only Critique would be that i think you should add colour as SoftOcean said. Other than that, looks like you've got some good pieces on the way...
I agree that the final image is somewhat cropped but I wanted to zoom in more on the characters so I experimented a bit. As for his left upper arm I think some of the linework got lost when playing with the levels. The position of that arm really gave me a hard time.
Thanks. We had two weeks for this assignment so I really took my time to give every step in the process enough attention. I plan to throw in some colors when I have the time
Very good man! Definitely you have a talent, i like your style KEEP GOING! BEST WISHES FROM BULGARIA!
