algenpfleger: It's a secret hehe.
Chate Noire: thanks bro!
Some update of photos and drawings from this month's metamorphica workshop.
Some old hw assignments. And yesterdays WorkEasy worshop.
If you live in San Francisco and want more info about the monthy Metamorphica workshop go to this link. my friend Nadia is running the workshop.
Oh my god your stuff is amazing. *weeps silently* I'm subscribing f'sho.
I answered your question in my SB but not sure if you saw... but actually I wanted to ask what your opinion is on AAU's program as opposed to other art schools. Or just about AAU in general, what major are you taking?
(Oh and Henry Yan the figure drawing teacher?
I think I had him for summer program, he's amazing!)
stunning work! love the zebra-piece! keep rockin!
Yeah, at AAU, it's really all about if you get the right teachers because that's all that matters. The teachers are great, especially in rare cases like Henry Yan. The programs and classes are okay, but it's really up to you if you want to get better. you really have to nag the teachers and go to the workshops a lot. So in the end it's really how hard you practice. Right now, Im in my fourth semester majoring in traditional Illustration. It's going good so far, but it's getting more and more expensive. Once i find a job...i'm outta there!
Thanks for commenting on my sketchbook. Your work is SO fantastic. I can only hope to get as good as you...! I've been admiring your figure drawing for quite some time now. Very energetic and impressionistic while realistic at the same time. I think you'll get hired quickly for sure. =) Are you participating in the annual spring show?
wow, that is a really really ambitious sketchbook page. is it a master copy? cause damn its excellent and seems really hard to think out there on the page. otherwise, your hatching is a dream, i love all of it!
Fan-freaking-tastic sketches - that workshop / models looked like a lot of fun! Dig your sketches of that in a big way. Definitely in my fav's - Keep em coming - I'll be back!
Daryl Zero: "A few words here about following people. People know they're being followed when they turn around and see someone following them. They can't tell they're being followed if you get there first."

evidence of how just 1 year at a decent art school can boost your skills.

Oh man those life drawings are beautifull!
"The superior man is distressed by the limitations of his ability; he is not distressed by the fact that men do not recognize the ability that he has."
Wow, I really like your gestures, they have so much life in them.
grenappels: that was all from imagination, line for line.
meticulous: thanks, bro.
staticpen: thanks. I'm gald we talked about that AAU stuff. hit me up if you're around town!
Eerin ehh..it's alright. The next one has to be ten times better. That's my problem, i never want to do the same thing. Something always has to be different..in a better way. I guesss that's how you get better...
sevarenge: I'm glad you like it, man. The next illustrations, im gonna try to make ten times better. It's hard cause it's all from my head so it takes a long time to come up with something. But....i just recently figure out some tricks to get great ideas without looking at references....
tandy1000: well, somewhat true. You learn a lot the first year, but that alone doesn't make you tight. The rest of your 3/4 amount depends on you. You seriously have to train hard. And i don't mean just draw a lot cause some people are drawing machines but they don't know how to get better. With each drawing/painting, it has to be better than your last...that's the secret...
wookiedabo: thanks, thanks, thanks!!!
Tomahawk Monkey: thanks, man
rasta-art: hehe, thanks
Texahol: thanks. Yea they are small, but the paper quality are the best. Rather draw on really great paper that is small than shitty paper that's big. i really effects your work, seriously. That's enough to risk!
Some drawing and oil painting dump from the last few weeks. The portraits are pretty small. They are on 10x8 canvas borads. The portrait in b&w is done in acrylics and the dude sitting in the throne was from imagination.
I hate posting in the SB section without leaving a Crit. But I felt someone should say this.
A long time ago, you were merely a Wes Burt emulator, it was obvious and you seemed to have come to grips with this. I would never speak of this but it is now evident to me and EVERYONE who looks at your current work state you have become a true artist, you have your own visual Language budding here. I know you know this, but I think everyone deserves credit where credit is more than due. I not only enjoy looking at your work but learn something from it, you have a bright future bro.
~Curiosity killed the cat. But it made me a F#@k of a lot smarter.

wow, what a treat, lfreaking nice sketches . On the paints, you lose the feeling of light a bit from the saturated cools in your darks. Temperature variation is sweet, but saturation variation, either desaturating light or shadow, would really separate out the light from the shadow side and the forms would read more 3 dimensionally. Beautiful brushwork besides that.
Gue, your storytelling skills are great! See you on Sat! metamorrrrphica
