not very happy with this one, ugghhhhhhh
I'm back! finally an update!
So i justabout got a chow done today, its ok - but a quickie before diving into some more game art next week! Hopefully i'll have some things to show in here from the game sometime this year, but we will see. So i have to try and churn out more personal work in my freetime.....which will be hard with the MGS online beta coming out!
hope you like, i've also included the BG i painted from the chow which turned out nice!
Leaps and bounds from the last time i saw your work tom. I cant even compare to what you were doing just over a year ago.
(kinda makes me feel like a complete slacker)
Are your life drawing thumbs from a live model or from images you have?
keep up the amazing stuff.
BTW you should come to hellmouth though there are only 5 spots left!http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=123496
Anyway, keep up the awesome work.
Hi Tom. We are in the same class " environment concept design". Man you have some kick ass figure paintings. I take it you were in Don's fist class. I took his second and it's a cool to see your take on some of these that we both have painted.
How big is your final image when doing these figure paintings?
My path of learning (sb)
Haha... love that last one... I used to be a Sherlock Holmes reading fiend as a child - made me smile.
I've just started a cg workshop course with phillip straub, so i thought i should post some work up from it in my sketchbook!
crits and comments welcome - these are all just little quick studies and thumbnails for further pieces. Trying a few different composition types and techniques.
Incredible... I want to achieve this level of skill .. Keep it up! Inspiring!
"The marvels of daily life are exciting; no movie director can arrange the unexpected that you find in the street." - Robert Doisneau
"I think that each work of art when stripped to its bare bones is essentially a 'connect the dots' picture." - Me
nice enviros, like the angles you used they help achieve a more dramatic mood... keep it up!!
Some new updates
I'm now allowed to show this Batman piece i painted for the magazine "dangerous ink" who feature all sorts of arty things! They did a feature on Adam West, and had a few artists pitch in for various themed images based on the original Batman.
Some enviro work also..
Hello, I've decided to try and turn over a new leaf and get much better as an artist this year. I've had a few struggles lately but i'm really pushing now to reach a new level in my painting. The ol' xp grind!
i've started out by going back to basics with a few life study paintings from photos of objects around my flat. I'm trying to keep my brushwork economic and capture the light in the pieces.
Last paintings are very nice.
Love Dr Watson
