Damn, that's just, wow. Nice work, I really wish I could say something helpful, but your the type of artist I try and learn from.
I really love that experience of yours. I wish I could do something as free as that looks like. Even though I have to admit I liked it more before you painted it, I'm gonna miss those flying lines... Oh well, I will probably never do anything like that, I'm way too firm and I don't even have space to that and if there is something I have it's excuses.
And those faces, damn, they're simply too pretty and you make them look so easy. So no advices from me, I just drool here. Keep it up.
"Not all those who wander
@roidvoid - thx. don't let anyone tell you what or who you are. you know that inside, better than anyone can ever guess.
@cupidsart - just draw as you breathe and things'll be fine. thx
@zao75231 - thx man. i do plenty of construction for my concept projects and school projects, but the works in this thread are really just me letting go and creating.
@sadetar - nothing should stop you from doing what you feel in arts man. thx alot for the kind words.
ok guys, i just finished this one.. around one hour aswell. i should get some sleep, i'm beat.
Really enjoyed looking through this sketchbook... Great studies, phenomenal realism. Just amazing, keep at it and if you have any pointers i would greatly appreciate it...
Keep the pencil to the paper.
MY SKETCHBOOK http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=116561
Awesome collection of sketches!
great work. its a shame the picture of the mans face at the top is small. would be nice to see larger
Haven't been in here for a while, and you posted some nice updates in the meantime .
In those warrior sketches there are two things I noticed. The first is that some of them could use some 'gravity'. They don't exactly look like they're floating or something, but a firmer stance on the ground would give do the dynamic pose a little more justice. I think a couple of guidelines from their point of gravity to the ground and the perspective lines through the hip, shoulders and feet would help in that area. Secondly, some of the proportions could use a little more work. The arm on the last one looks a bit small (probably also because of foreshortening). In a couple of those pieces the hands could use some more work as well.
I like those landscape studies. The subject fits nicely in a 10 min sketch I think, and the colors work really well to give a sense of depth and shape. It might pay off to do some 30min-1hour studies as well.
hey G, thx. the warriors are done for a friendly art challenge, i'm trying to establish the look of a warrior and a mage. i'll also have to do some final paintjobs, so keep in touch. thx for the crit, i'll keep in mind what you said.

Your pencil sketches feel like they have a deep history in them. It's really cool how you have a style that is somewhat fantasy and somewhat realistic. I think it would be great if you drew some of these old warriors/shamans/people on some really old antique like paper. Maybe paper you made with various methods... like coffee stains.
Last paint is very nice.
Like the simple strokes. They really compliment the piece.
Wouldn't mind seeing more time put into it?
@toubab: hey man, thx.
@sketch: thx for the tip man, will definitely try it. btw, i really like your work, keep it up
@hive_mind: thx man, i will have some finished pieces too, but for now i'm just trying to push my speed up a bit.
ok here's a fresh new one, about 1 and a half hour. just went crazy with it, enjoy.
Your recent stuff has a ton of energy and vitality. And it could be a whole lot stronger with a touch of your fine control on top of that energy. You're sacrificing your edges and form for that designy stuff. Try to make sure your drawings and ideas don't suffer in lieu of a style, particularly that flashy android/coro design lines.
Obvious troll is obvious
Awwwwwwwwesome stuff since I last came here...nice works meng. love those designs...which reminds me I gotta do some designing myself too....Keep at it...And yeah ...do keep posting those awesome lead renderings of yours too.
