Moftah Thanks for visiting. Glad you like.
Amir the night wolf Okay. The poll was time limited to a week when I posted it. It's an option when you choose to poll.
I took a workshop with Steve Huston about a month ago. That was the clincher. My figures are moving out of the realm of flat. I set out to re-define my approach and solidify the 3d aspect of a drawing. The information I was exposed to, has created a new nucleus for my design sense to draw from.
Now my goal is to merge the Riley 2d design background I have with the classic Old Master's grasp of weight and solid form. This is very exciting for me because my work is moving forward in a most satisfying way.
When I study, I slow way the hell down. Also the wealth of information I am taking from Kevin Chen's classes is sinking in. Will be in my 2nd round this summer.
Hence, I won't be posting as much because alot of the work is scruffy as I settle into the more expansive system of figure study.
These drawings are focused on feeling your way through and around specific areas in order to explain the gesture further with form lines that define the 3d space of each part of the body. I am now always aware of my viewpoint and the perspective that causes the figure to take. Eye level is very important in creating a believable figure in depth.
