dude those studies are awesome! are you using photo's as ref? how do you go about color exercises?
MeTaL-Mike, thanks, sure I will try to do more, those color exercises focus on learning realistic color changes so I use ref for all of them
sketcheth, Noukah, thanks
yousa, yeap I use references for those chicks and environments color exercises
picksel, I really want to limit my time for each drawing so I can learn more on different paintings, it is not about rendering it is about learning color so I won't further develop any of those paintings, thank you for the critique about the environment, totally agree with you I will pay more attention on depth on my next environment painting, yes I realize I use similar green in the fg and bg, damn I am stupid
_^SlayeR^_, Me,Myself & Me again, thanks
HunterKiller_, thanks for the info of the workshop I will most likely go there,
Webzu, I will never stop until I die
reaaally nice studies,cheers.
as for man vs woman, yes, women have wonderful curves, but depending on art style one can almost elevate man to the same level,i'd say
Pawkfox, well I feel pretty boy means gay haha, just joking, studying anatomy pretty much you just need to draw more, more you draw better you learn if you need references 3dsk is good reference site
Carnifex, thanks sure you can, but to me guys are always pretty ugly, but on the other hand ugly is also part of beauty
squidmonk3j, thanks for patting
another quick environment exercise
pawkfox,i meant more along the lines of exaggeration, using the male body to illustrate the rougher sides of life. a female body will almost always seem soft, sensitive and fluid. male bodies to me offer a better chance to demonstrate raw power and motion. depends i guess.
nice study, could use abit more punch though,in terms of light and shadows.
It's a bit scary to me that those are thumbnails lol. Great designs! You really know how to get the gesture of a pose while maintaining great accuracy and form. Lovely paintings as well, great color and form. Great job as always!
I'm loving these character 'thumbnails'. The claw girl and chainsaw guy are really cool.
Great handling of the babe on the bed. Very sexy, in a cute kind of way.
Would love to see you at the workshop! Registration has already opened.
All I can say is wow your work is amazing. I hope I can compete as I progress. As far as critiquing goes, don't have anything to say except keep it up.
You handle your anatomy VERY well.
I'm extremely jealous
Just joined this forum to say love your artwork, your work has inspired me to start drawing again (loved to draw as a kid :-)).
Do you have any tips on figure drawing for beginners, for example recommended books etc?
Keep evolving your style and don't be so hard on yourself.

Amazing works...i can see your improvement in colours also...keep inspiring!
I have just discovered this thread, by what I've seen there is lot of beautiful stuff to be found here (and great inspiration too! After all isn't that the main reason we're here?)
I'm looking forward to going through the past pages, and seeing more in the future!

I looked at your entire SB, and all of your work is absolutely top notch, you are amazing! You draw the human figure as precise as an old master would. I love how you are adding digital painting to your arsenal. You are doing good, keep doing your color studies. Some of your colored work is lacking values. Just remember to paint with value, not color. What I mean by this is every color is its own value, if you think in values while using colors, you will achieve the proper look.
Your work is fantastic! I love it all, your imagination is phenomenal.
Sweet ass fucking characters! I really like seeing how you rough out the human anatomy too, its really pleasing to the eye and makes it look simpler than it is D:
Nothin from me besides admiration im affraid! hopefully i can achieve your kind of fluidity in my poses and what not at some point! :3
i would love to see any of these characters fully rendered. id really like to see some well thought out backgrounds too. so many (myself included) tend to just draw the character drop in some textured background and be done with it
are u using the line tool for those guns or click shift click?
roidvoid, those characters will be developed later on because I will model one of them in 3d so I need to render and draw model sheet of one of them, all of them are drawn with brush tool with other dynamics turned off
JustinBeckett, thank you you are right my picture is too flat in general, I am still struggling in value, usually I will color my picture with a hue and saturation layer on top to check my value constantly, but surely I will put more attention on it
one more new painting
Could I borrow your genes..?
Just till I get a career.
The lighting is reallly nice.
