some more studies for Moai's awesome creature anatomy- thread.
Peetaer - Thanks mate, glad you like it! Yeah I decided to leave any fancy rendering out of these studies. These cross cotours show the shape of the bones just 87ß45723047958 times better
So here we go again. A lion skull just ofr you!

Hey Gloominati!! Thanks for your post in my SB!
I enjoy your work I have to say, great values in the sumo pic. I like the way you work with colors too, this one i superawesome - http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1187962277
I think you need to focus on your figures more though, try simplifying your anatomy (like in the sumo-pic) and draw more from life perhaps. I'm glad you're trying to figure out how the bones work, personally I basically don't have a clue. It's definately something I need to work on. ,)
Cheers body, waiting for the updates!
the vajayjay one is funny, look at the butt cheek it looks like a giant whooha!
wow nice pencilwork dude! u reall know how to use that medium
good thing u do that much studies, go on with them!
My sketchbook: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...106521&page=11
hey man, great stuff u have here and i can predict even greater stuff in the future. With the whole 'take time in all my drawings' good for you, it takes time to find out how art works for you. Your 19 right? Im 17, and im just saying hello to future artists around my age group.....so hello
Tigermilk: thanks dude, great taht you pointed that out, will work on that!
seancron- hehe cooles comment ever
ajvenema- thank you!
Glory666- hehe, thanks man. Hi
WHUUOAAA my life massively changed within the last days, artistically wise. Right now I got two concept-art /illustration jobs right now and I am practically drowning in work that makes me sit in front of the paper for at least 7 hours a day, which is an absolutely awesome feeling! I just got permission to show the stuff of one of these jobs, so be prepared to get a lot of that stuff in the next few days/weeks.
I must not give you any specific information about this project, so here are just teh concepts without any words (yeah I know that some of the chimneys are off but this will be fixed in more finished versions)
Flaskpost- thanks a lot man!
There we go again, two more buildings. They are drawn in isometric perspective, meaning taht no vanishing points are used, so the lines do not converge but are all parallel to each other.
so here's yesterdays bunch of building-concept. these do only serve as quick sketches (abou 30 minutes each), so there surely ios some of teh eprspective a little bit off, but since I am a lazy ass I will correct that stuff while coloring it
uh and sorry for the crappy crapyp adges in all the images that I had to scan in two parts. I might have fixed that before posting, but this is a sketchbookthread, so I'll stay lazy
and the bunch is growing and growing. Sketches are halfway done now. There are still ten mroe buldings till its time for some color!
congratulation for your new job!!!
I like these concept buildings, they are nice to read.
I would work on the materiality, to archieve a more realistic look.
well they are all meant to be "cartoony", so realistic stuff would be kinda wrong in this place, wouldn't it?
There you have it. Finally all Designs have been accepted, now comes teh coloring part woohoo
Love the buildings very neat and crisp very well done too Are they just for fun or concept art or what? The only crit would be that they all look so similar with the same angle of view and detailing on the roof, etc... but ya you definalty have that style done nice work
stop by sometime
yeah they are for an online-game coming out next year. that's the reason why they do all look so similar in angle/perspective and style
so heres the first colored one. This wasn't my favourite version but the client liked it, so here you go.
nice stuff! but your structures look kinda cartoony (i'm guessing that's intentional?) looking through the rest of the sketchbook and i really like it! though post #112 is my favorite! it's really really great! i'm looking forward to more posts soon!
Incessant Doodlings of a Wandering Mind (my sketchbook)
"Avoidance of what you can't draw well doesn't stimulate growth." -Cory Trego-Erdner
"Only the mediocre are always at their best."-Jean Giraudoux
Ignominious- thanks dude! yeah the clinet wants this really cartoony looking style.
and a new bunch of almost finished WIPs
farvus- thanks a lot mate! well the pencils were just quite quick pencils, so I did not put that much attention on shading. nevertheless you're right there!!
and two more, bitches!
ok so.. they all look kind of cute but they lack some architectural order.
perhaps you need to study some more medieval / renaissance architecture before actually going into concepting. your buildings have major flaws regardind their very construction. many elements are out of scale and you lack a fine touch for details.
it can all be easily fixed with some studies.
keep it up.
