Grrr must catch up!
Nice work man!
phew. A lot of excellent new stuff since I have been here last time.
Thanks for reminding me on pose maniacs and stuff
Keep it up!
Your sketchbook is awesome. Your environment sketches as well as paintings are awesome. It's cool to see that you do as many characters & anatomy studies as you do environments. that's something i need to do more of. Not much to really critique, looks like your workin your ass off. Keep at it.
"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

Dang! I so soo love your horse studies from the other page and your posemaniacs are really clean
Your landscapes have nice values and details.
I'm not really fit to give you any critique seeing your anatomy level and such, so i'll just tell you do more n don't stop
The-Avel-Fairy Hey I remember you too thanks for stopping by
Enydimon I'm thinking of trying yet another version of goku, but I like the face on the current one too much.... yeah it's been said his chest is flat and I agree
LORD M Nice! thanks for the reccomendation
danlucas thanks, posemaniacs is good to learn basic proportions, gesture, and foreshortening but it's really only a supplement to life drawing and muscle studies so use it side by side with those
AmontilladoAg Thank you, and I won't!
ChaoticKnight Catch up to what, I've been practically inactive for a month
ArtZealot Only reason I'm trying landscapes so much is because I suck at them so bad and don't actually like to do them. I'd much rather just draw people all day but I know they need places to fight and live and laugh and love...
BlackDelphin Thanks very much
BlackDelphin Thanks very much
Mythical boudica, semi-posterization study, some sketches and a christmas present. I really need to do MOAR.
That female warrior looks gorgeous. Nice job with the pose and lighting. Very dynamic.
Sorry, but the stuff here is already so good and versatile that it's hard to beat your ass with any critiques. Just keep going and studying, you're doing awesome.
"You might be disappointed if you fail, but you will be doomed if you don't try"
That deer picture is awesome. Saw the thumbnail on Facebook and thought it was a photo..
Nice updatage, need moar updatages.
Insanity is the key!
Also, studies are a key. And passion is a key. Also, so are inspiration, motivation and dedication. Talent can be a key. Insomnia can also be a key, depression is a sad rusty little key. Damn, artists need one hell of a keyring.
My blog - contemporary and abstract paintings
My other blog - illustrative/representational art
Like Aila, I had to look at it on FB twice, cuz I thought it was a photo. Nice work, sir.
Keep at it with the face sketches -- you've come a long way with faces, btw
Lookin' good --> do MOAR
Look, see! Nifty art! http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=99803
Hey! Check out my blog here
ismo Thanks, don't worry I'll slip up badly enough sometime soon that you can take an easy crack at me
Aila Thanks, moar on the way
AmontilladoAg Thank you, I still have a way to go with faces though. Mine lack so much depth and structure I feel. I will remedy it!
sup Jason, you crazy sketching behemoth, awesome updates man been awhile since i stopped in here last since the CHOW II finals. Great sketches man, keep up the hard work, the brush work, and colors are reading really nice! Is your team doing team CHOW III?
Still doing great, I see! I dare say, keep it up. :p
Indeed, I'm the only member who got his avatar from google, and didn't draw it himself. Oh well.
Wow, so uh... it's been a while
Right after my last update I tried to keep up the pace/quality of studies but it broke down somewhat when more work came along. so far there are 4-5 finished pieces I can't show and probably can;t for a while, so I swear I've been working on more that is shown here. Still, I got next to nothing done for the time I've not updated.
dose Thanks Tim now if I can only figure out what I did right and integrate that into my art I'll be on my way
snootchy Hey snootchy, thanks! yeah we did chow 3, but I'm really underwhelmed at my contribution.
drd haha thanks man
Mark Tarrisse Means a lot Mark! thanks for stopping by
Morthrong Eterech morty! It's been a while. hope everything is going good. thanks for the look
I'll try to keep this as organized as possible, so I'll just start with the "studies" I did:
A couple of days I did very quick portrait studies (since I really still do suck at likeneses), making sure to do 4 in no more than an hour:
I also had some direction to do some perspective studies of a simplified figure in a rotated box. For the first batch i just used sketchup to create a box that I could rotate without worrying if my perspective was right.
A couple of general sketches/doodles;
Alllll the work done for Chow 3;
These 2 are a small collab with Zilrion, I was painting over his thumbs:
Onto some freelance work. these first sketches were just concept stuff, but it was never expanded upon/shown to the client since I reread the brief and realized I was waaaay off base (the only one I liked was the first concept on the 3rd pic);
Finally, here's a new wip gift for a friend. He surprised me with a really cool gift at Christmas and after thanking him profusely, I told him I'd get him an illustration. he's native, and the concept is derived froma local feature by his reserve; on the road to the reserve there's a rock face that when viewed froma certain angle, looks like the profile of a native's head. With this image I wanted to take that image literally, with a native's head, lots of animals seeming to flow from his hair. the symbol of the Ojibwe people is on his forehead;
Whew. Ok. Don't think I'll ever let that go that long again without updating.

Hey man, really cool progress in here, big difference from the first page which is always great to see. That piece with the deer and boat is amazing, also the portrait in the post after that is as well, great work. Also, thanks for commenting my sketchbook XD
Ahaha thank you for thanking me twice, but sorry about the double post it actually didn't show it when it submitted.
Anyway, dang i so love your new studies!! Your posemaniacs look really good, in every position, and your foreshortening figures too!
I can't really say much because you know what you're doing, compared to me witch doesn't have a clue heh xD
So yeah, more please
purb36 thank! hopefully I will.
hummel1dane thank you
Untouched24 thanks for stoppin' by
BlackDelphin thakning you twice? You'll have to refresh my memory, can't remember thanking you recently... :/ And thanks
More face studies, I think I'm done with female likeness studies for a while. Doing them for a week or two now, each one being 15 min long... seems it's hit or miss with them. Also did a couple figure studies the same way. Hopefully I learned something. Starting next week my one hour studies will probably be landscapes, so I'll gather some ref this weekend so i have it at the ready;
Quick skethcy crap. Feels like my female faces actually got worse :/
Did this for the Draw from the what does everyone look like thread. Ariel9;
Indian Head final and Hawberries (freelance)
Hi~Uh, after seeing so many beautiful pencil sketches I really want to study anatomy and color more in depth,,, Could you give me some directions or adivices on learning these issue?(books or something,,,) I feel lost when I try to get some references on muscle studies,,,
Really Good works and progress,,, Hope I could have your adivices in the future!!

shidoken Thank you
Enydimon I'll try!
So my once-a-weekday hour-long studies have shifted to landscapes. Here's the results of the first week along with some posemaniacs and another finished illo (though there's some refining to do here and there)
