You're a line lover...and I love your lines!
Those heads = drool.
i agree completely john and i wasnt implying that. I also wanted to apologize for the way i acted before i left, it was a very confusing time for me, and i said many things i didnt mean.
and your right, there is no top, there is only the journey.
good lord! you're teh inspiration!
question! what do you think of when you're working out new concepts? what about poses?
Ben- It's okay man, I've had my share of social "bumps" as well... this stuff can be stressful, trust me, I know. So don't worry about it...and that is the absolute truth, there is only the journey...
thegreypencil-Well, I try to think about what the character is thinking, what their attitude would be, how they feel... oh, and lots and LOTS of life drawing... And as for concepts, I just try to follow my intuition about what I think is cool. Like I said, I want to express my personal take on things.

mm thanks for the tips dude, ill spend more time on expression definitely. i just started live drawing sessions so that'll help i guess dare i ask for a crit on my work? could you?
Badger-I didn't use paths to color that picture. Just colored it with my tablet, putting in the local colors, and then the shadows. Nothing fancy.
thegreypencil-I'll take a look...
Been away for a bit. Here are a few more pics.

wow. i'm truly amazed. such a wide range of subjects and so many great ideas (love the little winged piggie to only name one)! and (as said many many times before): your clean linework is such an eyecandy!
Your work is really easy on the eyes and can be taken in very fast, keep up the clean lines!
Its been a while since I visited your thread.
Improvement in all departments. Its always god to see your work,Angryscientist is right about your clean lines.
Thanks for the advice John! Ill work on that. Something Ive noted from your sketchbook though, is the importance of expression, that it doesnt take alot of detailed rendering to convey feeling. I think my work tends to look dead and stiff cuz its weighed down with too much detail as you sais. So Im busting out life studies as well as portrait work, hope it gets somewhere then
Five stars for flow!
bhanu- The order that I have been posting my work on here has been pretty random so far, some of it is from almost a year ago, other stuff is pretty recent. I guess the reason I'm doing this is I don't like it when people only show their very best work, so I wanted to just throw a lot out there, even stuff that isn't really that great. Once I get the stuff I like on here, then I'll try to start posting in more of a progressing order.
thegreypencil- Good to hear that you are getting some life drawing in. If there is one thing that I would say has helped me immensely with my own work, life drawing would be it. I'm a big fan of doing quick (1-2 min.) gesture drawings, and anyone who feels they need to loosen up and get some flow into their work should try these. If you could get a bit more flow and spontinaity into your "vocabulary", and combine that with your impressive rendering ability, you would have a sweet combination indeed. And like you pointed out, you don't need a lot of detail to convey expression, but also keep in mind that the fewer marks you have, the more each one counts. -John
nice work man, yes, you are definitely a line lover
