Nice job on the new pic, birthday boy. for a 'quick sketch' the detail is quite marvelous. Keep up the great work.
Sup Dile, you applied to do concept art for my project nearly a year ago, youve come a long way! Are you still doing art for mods?
And happy birthday!
Hey Dile. Being one year younger then you I can really relate to some of the things you are going through in your artistic journey . You are having so much progress and your digi paints are coming along great. Keep doing what your'e doing!
Good stuff. Maybe spend some more time on the construction of the head, more skull and muscle studies.
Just Keep going , happy birthday also
hey man, congrats on the anniversary of you joining CA and you being born!
i hope you are having fun!
the last update is very nice, the light hitting his head is really convincing. it would be awesome to see you work up the rest of this sketch, it could turn out very nice indeed.
have fun drawing you prodigy you!
you have good work in here, i like this
especially the main figure, very expresive strokes...
not much to say, other that continue the good work...
havent dropped in in a while, the latest digi wants to make me go and draw, good to see you with paints , try doing some colour stuff to help learn about mixing them.
keep it up .james
Great use of loseness and perspective, even in your simplest sketches!
Can see that your linequality is getting really better, and it looks that you're
more comfortable with freehand than ever.
You are doing great, sorry i didnt answer your pm, just realized it recently.
Congratulations for your anniversaries
I just missed some really good updates here and i am happy you did more studies and faces, i hope (i am sure) you got something out of it.
Good improvement, most important stuff was already mentioned i think
I am quite impressed by your take on crits and your drive at that age.
I'll try to be around
You workaholic! Haha, love the improvement Dile. Your perspective studies and environments are coming out very well. As if I can say anything about your figures, right on! The faces are coming out great, and you no longer hide them anymore haha. Sorry it has been a while sense I checked up on your progress. As always, keep it up!
Nice work. Hopefully you got the critique I gave in dA about that robot fella.
Also, the guy seems to miss eyebags... Good job, though.
Keep up the good work.
hey birthday boy, hope ya had a lot of fun on your birthday
coll to see all these updates, and even better to see you mess around with different mediums....i really liked that gouache thing in post 327 and the 341 painting...keep pushing
What????? There are blue mechanical pencils about????? ACHHHH!
Anyway, your work is looking strong and encouraging. Your architectural drawings is showing a good understanding of perspective. Your figures have fluidity, they dont look stiff. Though your faces are still a little flat at times. Try working on the constructions of the head, maybe try this with linework only shading can hide these sometimes so its best to focus on improving.
Also, thinking about where the light source is can improve the quality of your drawings.
In this one, you have a well constructed formation of cubes but its not immediately clear where the light source is, so a better range of value (1,2,3 read) will make your work more readable.
Similar thing here:
If you push the contrast of the 3 sides of the cuboid we see, this will be so much clearer and better!
Geeze, I keep missing out. Your rendering and figures have improved dramatically. on your sketches, try to draw cleaner lines, your designs will look more and more awesome. An on your photoshop sketches, well I like whats going there. your doing great dude.
Nice updates Dile, expecially the digital stuff has gotten alot better! Hope to see more of those soon.
Oh yeah and happy B day!
Dennis. Sweet stuff as usual.
I'll offer some crits:
Hmm, don't let your sketches get too messy, when your spraying lines everywhere I think it is harder to learn what lines are necessary and really contain the information that you need to convey emotion / form.
I'm sure I've said it before but try pen! Do some work from ref with pen and really take your time. Even if a tiny face takes 5 minutes or something, just think about what you need, and what will carry the image to the viewer.
I like your rendering but I think its more important that you tighten up your lines and be more decisive with them, I don't mean heavy-handed or stronger, just more confident in them. I know you do a lot of sketcher, so that is good, but that can be erased too =P
If you don't understand my crazy english words then hit me up on msn. Bitch.
killer stuff here, i expect even more killery stuff soon, so go work this shit, cmon yeah
Very good stuff from my last visit!
Hey Dile! Been too long since I last dropped by !
Things are looking great, I really like the looseness of your sketches - keep that up.
You are definitely cementing things for yourself my man.
One or two crits I have for you: Your forms sometimes come out a bit flat in your drawings (though not always) - vary your line some more, and pay more attention to lighting to prevent this. Also, something that helps me is to let my hand find the shapes and lines instead of drawing them where I think. This makes for more interesting shapes and ultimately better compositions.
That said, your work is coming along a lot faster than mine is, and if you keep improving at this pace I'll need to break you drawing hand's fingers .
It's inspiring to see how passionate about art you are. Lets just hope your interest dousn't fade.
Latest updates looks great btw.
Keep to it!!
