Thanks for stopping by guys. I thought this thread had died and went to forum heaven. And yes I am Kekai Kotaki haha. Here's some random unfinished stuff I had laying around.
Damn, where is my gun when I want it the most! I love your painting style and the colors just blows me away and yeah did I mention your colors! Ahh the colors man! ill just stick my head in the oven then.
Thanks for a awsome scetchbook!
You are really great with suggesting shapes with your brush strokes. I find that more appealing than super refined detail. Do you have any advice about doing that cuz I sometimes remind myself not to get into too much detail where it is not needed. I'm also trying to develop a painterly approach too. Also, do you often start with silhouettes ?
If it's not too much to ask, could you drop by my SB and crit on my recent work? I would appreciate to hear what you think.

HUGE influence. Trying my best to adapt your brushstrokes into my work without just copying your style. Love how you hint details and display form.
I also humbly ask for a visit to my sketchbook if you have the chance to give some pointers of improvement-possibilities for me...
Link is in my sig or just below this sentence...
freaking awesome as always. you one who inspiring me amost.
Great pieces, all have elusive quality of being naturally loose yet tight enough, leaving room for the viewer's imagination.
ohmigod. my brain is jumping up and down inside my head... amazing update. all of the stuff here is stellar, but what I particularly like is the big hatted girl. the concept is so freaky and beautiful. the design and composition strikes my guts and the mysterious look tickles the back of my eyes... awesome, awesome, awesome!
Great update, good to see you posting again its always a real treat. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks guys for your comments. I got another go around with my Cowboy vs Sandworms idea and my Newborn piece.
@Dizon - Play around with brushes and find a couple you like. I do block out most things when I paint. Be more concerned with the overall effect of the piece and not a small portion of it that looks good.
@colrouphobia - I'll check out your stuff soon. Thanks for stopping by.
Beautiful work man!!
Absolutely loving the update! I'm glad to see you took the cowboys versus sandworms further, that's such a cool concept!! Out of curiosity, how long has it taken so far??
Incredible work as always!!
Thanks for sharing and inspiring as always!!
Cheers Kekai, it does help to get things pointed out and I will work on just that which you suggested
Neat Cowboy and worms btw, saw it on CGHUB, but the space-image is also cool (hadn't seen that one yet )
Wow, thrilled to find my favourite artist actually has a sketchbook on CA.
I would have never guessed your username, haha.
Awesome work man
Haha man I always knew you as that badass guild wars artist who I always had inspired to be...it's really cool to see you posting your work in the sketchbook section of these forums. Your stuff is nuts dude I love it.
its Aliiiiiiiiive!! hell yeah! really really love those cowboys vs. sandworm peices man!
really nice work mate. I like how you convey a real sense of action in both your characters and just the landscape images. I especially like the use of light in the 'Dead god city'.
