Just Had to subscribe, your pencils blow my mind, keep inspiring me
Hey man, thanks for the tips in my book! Def will work on the proportions. I dont know if I've been in here before but DAMN....this is some serious shit. I love it all....the photography is subtle enough that I can enjoy it....the pencils are fantastic also. Love the scribbles and looseness. Not to mention the oils. Thanks for the inspiration boost man.
Things are going great with the girl...she's a pretty cool chick. She loves the stang too heheh.
Enjoy your trip, sounds like a hell of a time.
amazing stuff, its so much fun looking at all the sketchy drawings that contain so much, the expressions, the lines that somehow tie everything together, they're a blast! cheers to you!
sorry, I was thinking about something. what'd you say again?
>check out my sketchbook<

yeaahh fantastic drawings and i love your paintings but i much love this sweety http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...7/Hunter2c.jpg than your paintings and drawings
I just got finished looking through this sketchbook...
I'm a bit speechless, but I'm mostly writing to say how impressed I am by your pencil work. Your later figure studies especially - they're so loose an lively, the white of the page doesn't seem so much a blank flat surface as a milky fog they emerge from. I get a creepy feeling they won't be there when I look back again, or maybe they'll have moved.
I've just looked through my drawing collection for anyone comparable to you, and I have to say there's not really. I mean, I have a couple Rich Pallegrino sketches that he put up on this site, and his work is great, although he's going along a different approach. And wes burt is great too, of course, there are tons of great artists, but I'm not sure anyone has quite done what you do.
You ever read Stephen King's dark tower series? There's a character who can draw so well, whatever he makes instantly comes true. I get that feeling in your work - like, now I know what his drawings would look like.
lukias, you are just about my favorite artist on this forum. I still can't get over your linework and gesture, and rendering, and... just everything.
seriously though, i've been watching your stuff for a while and your pencil work has been a huge inspiration to me. update more.
Hey thanks to everyone for the replies and feedback, you guys are the bees knees!!. Keep sharing the love.
Replies to questions etc..
mattgamer - Yeah babies and wee kids are the best subjects.. not self-conscious yet so don't shy from the lens.
Vietnam etc was AMAZING. Hot as shit but otherwise one of the greatest experiences of my life. Got some pretty cool photos if I do say so myself.. I'll be posting them up hopefully over the next week or so.
I have a few progs that I edit the photos in.. Corel Painter 9 and Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 plus another el budgo prog. Sometimes I tweak the shit out of them other times vitually nothing. I have no qualms with post processing to get better shots. Still, ultimately you'd want good shots to start with.. so I never want it to become a crutch.. just an extension.
Exile - I use a Sony A100 with a growing collection of lenses.
Saurus - Err yeah.. do more of something and you'll inevitably improve!
TASmith - Hey thanks alot for the super kind words, I'm geniunely flattered!
Can't say I've read Mr Kings Dark Tower series.. although that specific idea about the sketches coming to life... well I use to imagine that as a kid... the characters coming off of the page and interacting etc.
Right well.. ALOT or photography to come. I've really been getting into it lately.. much more so than anything else. In fact, my sketchwork has suffered alot for quite some time. I have a bunch of that aswell though.. some I've dug up from upwards of a couple of years ago. Plus some lame digital stuff which I've had half hearted efforts at.. which in turn yields shit results making me disheartened. Aw gee, poor me.
a wee more...
this one is fantastic buddy - http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1225363892
hope everything is good, love your work!
