Well I thought Id post up some of my sketches.
I joined this place a while ago, but only have just come back. My hopes are that in between working on my illustrations/comic that this little sketch thread will keep me motivated to update my dusty sketchbooks more. I've gotten into the bad habit of yanking loose paper instead haha.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy. I'm open to critique of any kind - my aim is to improve so I'll take what I can.
I know my style isn't very western, but I also strive on doing life drawing, still life, and have a passion for 10 minute watercolors and botanical studies.
Anyway, with that long intro out of the way~ onward sketches!
Breaking open a new sketchbook my friend gave me for my birthday.
I compiled some subject peices from gifts I received.
Mediums: Liquid white acrylic, ballpoint pen, black watercolor.
My aim was to practice rendering glass more. I think the sake bottle still needs more work.
Animatomical abnormalities! lawl.
This was done a few months back on cheap watercolor paper.
I tried painting using very few pencil lines as possible, my aim was to get a little more practice with the watercolors without restricting them too much.
Getting back to the basics. This was one of the first tries i did with the 10 minute watercolor exersize. Straight watercolor, no lines.
November last year I took a trip to Brisbane's museum for a sketching session.
Watercolor does not bode well on cheap sketchbook paper ive found.
After the failed watercolor studies of the park's statues I decided to give in and use a pencil wash and mechical pencil for other sketches.
more to come soon I hope! *gets slave whipped* TTATT)
