very good work
I started going to a group that make human figure sections once a week, we focus on short duration poses(1min, 3min, 4min sometimes 5 minutes.), this drawings are from three different sections.
Here's a few charcoal life drawings of mine
I have a difficulty with time. I've been trying to work more quickly, but what I come up with is still a little muddy in value and I am always unsure of the composition. Blah.
Every artist was first an amateur.

Please, help out with critiques!
here's a long pose(2-2.5hrs) from drawing class today. Red conte on warm toned paper. This is the first real long pose figure drawing I've done in any medium other than graphite
Some more poses of 1min. and 4min.
The last ones are 10min. plus the linework I did outside the figures.
Long Pose March 18th

A couple of sketch from yesterday's session
First time posting here. I have to admit it was pretty intimidating to join the forum at first but I would love nothing more than to improve artistic skills. I believe this one the best places for doing just that.
Below early 2007 - 08 (Charcoal)
India ink and stick
2008-09 (Ebony pencil)
I recently discovered a nude drawing session located at nearby library. I'll be making a visit this weekend. Also I'm going to go back to using charcoal instead of ebony pencils.
Critiques are always welcomed.
CentralUnrest: The eyes of the third one are amazing! Great work!
From photo reference:
Check out my sketchbook!
Decided to post some up for critiques and feedback ... these were done between 30 secs - 5 mins, charcoal on biggie sketch... been a while since i've gone to my last life drawing
Arn J.: The blue drawing has beautiful colours!
Some feet from my sketchbook:
Haven't been in here for awhile.
I enjoy viewing so many different approaches and energies.
Here are some of this weeks latest.
I would like to see a set price for these like the Opus TT As with all the proceeds going to the CFCF. This way, only the retailers who dont gouge get them and the kids get some pencils and paper to go with a new school.
Totally forgot I posted in this thread back in 2009. Well I quite a few uploads in my sketchbook so here are a few recent ones.
1- 13 hours
2- 15 min
3- 1 hour 30 minute
4- 10 minute
5- 50 minute
6- 20 minute
7- 15 minutes on top, hour and a half on bottom
edit: i think i didn't quite understoud the question the first time. To get that rake brush effect, i actually make cuts in the charcoal stick. I use a rotary tool with a cutting dish.

"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."
