Really like the paintings, but I'm just curious - is there symbolism behind them? Perhaps you could explain the last one you posted? (I'm art-tarded)
Would be really interested and much appreciated.
99% I work from personal photos that grab my attention for one reason or another and, basically, looks 'fun to paint'.
With the last painting there was something about the boy on his father's shoulders and the crowd that seemed very compelling. I don't really much care for explicit stories/narratives/symbols/meanings etc--they are not the primary motivation. Of course, I understand there is a desire to interpret the image or create a story and that's perfectly fine with me.
Great inspiring sketchbook! Beautiful style! Thanks for sharing! Keep on posting pencils please!

You are amazing. Glad I decided to click over a few threads, thought I kinda should get to sleep now... But I guess I'll just stick to viewing all of your work from wherever I can find it

love your works!..
This work is really, really, really impressive. I love seeing this.. Thanks so much for sharing!
You really use white the way it should be. Anyway, i wont write to much shit.. Anyway, This is amazing!
Amazing stuff! I love your use of negative space. Seems to indicate a lot of confidence in your brushwork to let it breath like that. Whenever I pick up a brush I end up giving in to the temptation to overwork a piece, so I'm always impressed to see someone who knows their way around a canvas.
I will be in a show at Art Center College of Design featuring alumni to celebrate its 80th birthday. It's this coming Wednesday. Lots of great people in it. Flyer: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6026613/art_center.pdf
