Firstly I should probably clarify that I'm not strictly looking for a mentor. I've been doodling around for quite a wihle and gotten more serious about art around 1 and a half years ago.
Ever since then I really wanted to make better and more realistic art. However I'm having difficulties with finding a starting point or some kind of "tutorial" to do so. Having looked through many of the sketchbook-threads and lots of tutorial-videos on Youtube I realize how much there is to learn and study.
My problem is that I don't really know where to start. Should I study anatomy? Do still lifes? Quick sketches? Study perspective? I do realize that at some point I willl have to concern myself with all of those if I seriously want my art to get better. My question is if you could give me advice on how to get into it / What do I start with and how do I continue from there.
I'm afraid I phrased this whole thing rather awkwardly but I hope you understand it anway. Help would be greatly appreciated.
