Hej Failoniir.
So, is everyone gearing up for the workshop in Prague? I think you will have a great time there - make sure you draw all the time, don't take notes - DRAW notes!! I loved the ones in Berlin and San Fransisco, but this time Leo and I will stay at home. Send us some pictures and drawings, will ya?
But we are planning to have that kroki-thing here in Stockholm in november, so you will all have a chance to repeat your new skills after Prague. Maybe november 5-6 or 12-13? And it will be pretty advanced since we figure most of the people joining will already know basics of kroki and anatomy (don't worry, all YOU guys know enough!) You can PM me if you want to sign up for a spot and I'll keep you updated on when and how much.
Aaaand, we had a pub-moot last week at Carmen. Maybe 10 people showed up, some with portfolios and others with new drawings that they did since the last time because they got so inspired talking to other artists. Someone here asked what this is all about and I think the answer is to inspire each other, to give each other that "oh, I want to go home and draw now" feeling (I almost left before my beer was finished, next time I'll bring a sketchbook...). If you have artist-people you know close to where you live, make sure you talk to them and meet and compare and say nice things (or not so nice if necessary..) about their drawings!!!! I can't repeat this enough times!!!!
Anyways, at Carmen it was mostly old collegues of mine and a couple of friends of theirs that also draw. But if anyone here at CA feels that they want to join, just bring the portfolio and come! Next time is Wednesday 2/11 (always the first Wednesday of the month) at Carmen - and I'm gonna show my first (payed for) comic, and the rest of you can show your notes from Prague!
By the way - did someone ask for an animator????
Saala - skicka ett PM!
MayaSan: Hey! I'll let you know shortly after the prague-workshop is I can join you guys in november. I think november 12-13 is best for me at the moment.. Sucks that you and Leo are staying home! I miss drawing with you guys! Apparently there aren't many artists sitting around sketching in my area, so you guys are my only outlet for social sketching
If I can't make it in november, I'll be sure to come over and visit soon after!
Say hi to Leo from me!
Anybody still doing hand sketching and marker rendering?
Interrested in gettinga set of ellipse templates?
I'm thinking of ordering this set:
the price for the set is 30 USD..in sweden you'd have to pay about 1000kr
altough the shipping is 85 USD..
....but if we order a bunch of them we'd could reduce the shipping cost

'sup scandinavian bunch! Few days after Prague, and I'm starting to collect my thoughts a bit.. hehe...
MayaSan: Looks like I won't make the november-meet... however, if you guys meet up every first wednesday of the month, I'll try to make it before long.. I wanna keep the hanging-out-with-other-artist-thing going Also, I miss you guys.. missed ya in Prague as well!
So if anyone haven't been to the threads that have been going on post-prague; it was f&#@ing awesome! Was my first workshop, but the instructors and the people that have been to other workshops said it was the best one to date. We all soaked up an insane amount of tips/tricks/knowledge, and I'm still digesting everything... I probably will be digesting for a looong time yet.
I'll be seeing ya'll soon!
MayaSan: Jepp.. I know.. it sucks.... neste gang, for sure!
I hope as many as possible come's to the figure drawing weekend Leo and Maya are orginizing.
And dCept, I know you can squezz it in somewhere in your schedual. For me
Who let the Badger in
I miss the drawing sessions to. But you know, you're always welcome to visit me
hallå min Sverige väninna
Hello, I lost touch with someone in 1994. Her name was Karoline, (I never knew her surname), and we had a brief, intense, whirlwind romance, cut short because she had to return to Sweden. Neither of us wanted it to end, it was just cruel circumstance that brought our relationship to an end. She sent me a postcard soon after she left with her phone number 004622513793, but no address. I’ve recently tried the number. A woman answered who had never heard of Karoline. Unfortunately her English was somewhat limited, and I could not get a forwarding address from her.
A Swedish colleague found this address associated with the number...
776 30 Hedemora
The only other information I have that I think might be useful is that she was working as an au-pair in London, where we met. I considered making enquiries with agencies, but didn’t know where to start. She left England in the late summer of 1994, perhaps late July/early August. Also, I was 23 at the time, and she was 20 or 21. I've tried the public records online, but my Swedish is almost as bad as my English!
I'd give anything to find her. If you need artwork for a personal project, you name it, I'll be your art bitch!
I´ve tracked down the number and adress and I got:
Landsg. 23 B, 776 30 HEDEMORA
So maybe she moved?
I found another girl by Elin Karoline Ljungkvist (I searched on another site also, then it was Karoline Elin Ljungkvist)
070-6864271 (I guess if you call from england you need to put 0046 in front so you get like 004670-6864271, I think)
Daglönarg 26, 776 36 HEDEMORA
So the post code is diffrent, it´s 36 instead of 30 as you can see. And the street, but maybe she moved?
That´s all I could find right now.
Is there a way of finding out the previous occupants of the house? Thanks a million fellas. PMs to me if you find anything.
Hey, I'm a Swede and I'm on CA so I thought I'd stop by and say hi. Not ranking very high in the art game just yet, but I'm getting there. Can't make it to the life drawing, haven't got the cash. Would love to otherwise.
Good luck with that girl pudding.

The Figure Drawing weekend is full, so no space for those who have not received an ok from me or L already (That means you, Per Elof, Erik, Johan, Björn and Fredrik!)!
It's gonna be a great weekend, see you on Saturday!
Damn great weekend! Awesomeness in effect! I brought back a bunch from it, and I hope something like that will happen soon again! I'm ever so grateful (as always) to MayaSan and Leo, for putting up with me (again) I'll need to get the croquis-sketches photographed soon, and I'll put 'em up.
MayaSan: I'll email you so you get my new email, and I want all the pictures Leo took
Hurricane: I owe you man! I'll take care of payment soon.. somehow... *wink wink*
The rest of you guys: You're an awesome bunch to hang with! I'll come over sometime soon again.
peace (and a hug for Mr. Hugs )
Yeah, this weekend turned out even better than we hoped for!
15 people all drawing and concentrating so hard that the fuses popped. Inspiring, frustrating (to get that exact right line) and great company. And Pernilla is such a good teacher, I wish I could just keep her here in Stockholm forever.
I hope we can do a new weekend like this soon!
@ d-Cept: You know there is always room for you here You and Pencilator did such huge improvements on your perspectives and volumes just the first day, so next time you will be scary-good!
@ Mr Hugs: Hope you had a good trip home, if you want to come and stay and read all our books you're most welcome anytime
@ Hurricane: Keep at it, use the info and the new technique we did this weekend, It will strengthen your work even more, just like Pernilla told you. And you know I'm right!
@ Mindflaw: Great to see you here again, we're all wainting for your computer to arrive so we can see more of you on the web!
@ Lunch: Don't be a stranger, drop in on wednesday pubmoots or just come over and say hi. And mail me that list of litterature you need for the Art History classes and I'll see what I have here in the library...
@ Mr P (if you're out there lurking) You come wednesdays too, we see much too little of your sweet face nowadays!
The rest of the participants were just looking at all the CA people with confused looks - "You all know each other from an internet forum?? How weird is that?"
Big hugs to all you guys from me and L, now I'm gonna spend the day making a sculpture out of that leftover 10 kg of clay!
Thanks guys, I had a lovely time with you all. Learnt so much from Pernilla and Leo.
I promise I'll come down and camp on your couch in a not to far away future.
It was cool to finally meet Lunch, and see my favorite CA crew
I hope we can have something like this again, maybe with some other subject or loads of diffrent things.
Gimme' gimme', I want to learn
I miss you all.

mayasan : ay capt'n !
