I'm new to the site, by the many posts I have perused I have found you lot to be of the friendly type. So I have a few questions for who ever has time to answer them.
Thank you in advance.
Firstly, I would like to work in the game industry (like many others), but I feel like my creativity and enthusiasm gives me the ability to succeed in the industry. That being said, I would love to focus mainly on game design.
While my modeling and texturing skills are mediocre, I believe that my actual "pencil to paper" skills need a lot of work.
I mean a lot.
Think of a unit and double it.
My stick men drawings beg for death at the abominations they see themselves as.
So while my budget doesn't allow for a abundance of lessons, I have signed up for live drawing lessons in January.
A good start.
My girlfriend has bought me a few books as early Christmas gifts.
But I don't feel like I'm learning fast enough.
I'll be going back to class in September for a one year character design program, I hope to be average in my 2d art skills by then.
Any helpful pointers would be greatly appreciated.
