Your practice is really showing off especially in your linework! Cheering you on~!!
Still WIP. I'm working on a Victorian environment. Suggestion appreciated.
When I was a student I spent almost all of my art time doing studies from life (just as you are), but I actually regret not playing enough with art. Goofing off and getting all of the crazy little ideas out of my head. When it comes down to it, Concept art is about those ideas.
For Science- Sketchbook!
I have to agree with you ForScience. The must is the basics, but if you don't let out your nature I think you will learn drawing, yes, but it's much more difficult.
Free yourself when drawing, and learn the basics. But always free yourself through the lines, the shapes and behind the shadows.
Some other studies from references. Speed drawings. And first the basic pencil idea for the victorian environment.
Hey Lucarky, great lot of work you are doing here, really like your figure studies.
And that coloured illustration on page 2... Wow man! REALLY great colours, mood and composition going on there.
Regarding the room drawing, definitely get a ruler or improvise one, it so helps with the perspective, and makes it easier to critique
Drawing around the form, thinking in contours, really helps understanding the form, and these contour lines can be related to perspective.
Also keep in mind that the vanishing points represent your 3dimensional space where parallel lines converge in the distance. - These 3d axes are perpendicular to each other, so should your vanishing points be.
Since you are doing a birds view shot, you need to have all 3 vanishing points going for you for almost all objects in the room.
Keep at it, cant wait to see more of your digital stuff!
Finished the woman.
And a creature from the game Secret of Evermore. I'm thinking to make every creature of the game. I like it so much.
Dammit! Have to buy that &%!!# scanner!
Glad to see you going strong buddy! The drawing of that woman is astounding! The hair, the fabric, the rendering, it's all spot on!
I'm also liking the environments you draw, those perspective studies seemed to have helped you loads! Nice improvement! Keep up the momentum and keep running

My (currently) terrible sketchbook
Loving your perspective studies!
Very nice work!

Hey Man , Keep doin what you are doin and you will be fine. I dig the enviro painting. You might try working in clay for a bit, it helps with three dimensional thinking.
Good luck keep it up.
Lineart of Tar Skull from Secret of Evermore. WIP
Other studies on rocks (that sucks)... and a little treeeee... Lazy today!
great stuff luckarky keep bashing your head on that perspective i myself am trying to have a better understanding and recently found out that perspective its what takes your art and story telling to the next level! since you lose the fear of taking crazy ass camera angles and dynamic perspective and foreshortening shots, so keep at it man
PS:completely awesome figure in #66 i want MORE! ;D
Great sketchbook bro. Loving all the studies! and the girl in #66 looks amazing! Keep up the good work.
First work in silhouette. Everyone know who's that hero-ine right?
And continue with the tar skull from Secret of Evermore... have to learn really hard to draw in photoshop...
haha nice practice on samus silouettes, the tar skull looks good too id recommend you not to relay on textures in such an early stage of the piece, either way i cant wait to see where you take that!
PS: if you are at a loss on how to operate in photoshop go to ctrl+paint and choose a playlist matt kohr has a beautiful way to break down photoshop and digital painting process to basicly anyone! so yeah i hope you practice more
Nice to see new people interested on the fundamentas of art. Go on and enjoy drawing!!!
Learn to draw watching videos of the best pro-illustrators and comic book artists in my youtube channel.
Finished the Tar Skull. Probably I'll resume it when I will be much confident with Photoshop.
Suggestions, good or bad, to improve the drawing is welcome.
That Tar Skull piece looks awesome! Great lighting and colors~
Some study on figure gesture. I'm too concentrated on tutorials on digital panting and I'm not moving on in the better way. I've got to do a schedule for the day and follow it.
45 sec for each figure, tot. 30 min for 40 figures.
I like how you try to suck every tiny bit of information out! Keep it up but my only advise it so start with on and go to the next if you finished it. If you do that you will understand more and faster ;D
yes you are improving... I'm new here and also wanting to learn how to do all this drawing/painting thing. Really encouraging to see you grow keep going!
lovely studies mate!!! definitely keep up the anatomy and overall fundamental training. Photoshop etc is a medium so dont worry that much about its technical side. Fundamentals are somehow the same for every medium. Dont rush with color, focus on values.
here a paintover, maybe something useful can be found on it.
lets keep up mate !!!
Cojac: Thanks! I will follow the advice and do more gesture.
Jir: Yeah man, organization is something that I have really to improve. Thank you.
Mosen: Hi mate and welcome aboard! Let's see some of your works and wait for the comments and suggestions from us. I will look for them for sure. Thanks for coming.
KingKostas: Wow, man! Thank you so much for the free lesson, it is definetly useful to me for improve my composition side, and so honored that you took my draw and put your hands on it to teach me something!
Quick figure sketch and a very ugly value study.

heey ncie to see you use foreshortening its to my knowledge one of our ultimate tools to imply focus to a drawing, use it wisely, if you are looking for a way to work on your values in the digital medium try still lifes, just search for "jar" in google images and save a bunch of jar photos with cool lightning or something that strikes your eye, then replicate it in photoshop (with a focus on values dont go all apeshit haha forget color, heck even forget lines if you want to (tho i think building your sketch through stages its the best way)) so keep at it i want to see more lucarky!
Value study on vases.
