I always though that chainsaw would make piss poor weapon.
This may apply to some aspects of some genres (like RPGs). For most games is overkill, you can learn as you go along (check Ego's video). Either that or a mushroom/hobo gives you new info when you need it.Seriously, most videogames of today really need these kinds of things. The controls and mechanics are too complicated for most new games for you to just pick up and play, like the old ones.
There's no need for a lengthy (and often mandatory) tutorial at the begging of the game.
How about this one? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070723/This is the most awesomest story about meat you will ever read.

Blasphemy. X1 forever.
Though I'm biased because it was one of the first SNES games I had when I was a kid and I'd play it until the point I could speed run god knows how fast.

Charlton Heston's butt was the first naked male ass I ever saw outside an art gallery (there were a few glimpses of from-the-back nudity in the original Planet of the Apes -- you young'uns probably don't know that, because they cut it for TV). I was nine years old. I imprinted on Mr Heston's posterior at that early formative moment and no other nethers have ever quite measured up since.
Sorry, sorry. It's just, the mention of Soylent Green brought it all tumbling out.
I was once on the receiving end of a critique so savagely nasty, I marched straight out of class to the office and changed my major (sketchbook).

Believe my lies, for I tell the truth about them. Or would you rather me lie about telling the truth?
