Signed up here about a year ago and then proceeded to simply lurk instead of posting anything. Time to change that up a bit. I'm looking to improve, so crits are welcome.

I know you're not supposed to use reference pictures found on Google, but I did exactly that :/ It was only for practice purposes and will never see the light of day again anyway.

Haven't been here in a long time :/ Need to start focusing again... except for all I did today was screw around with values.

HANDS. FEET. FACES.
Just staying loose and gestural today.

You're off to a good start, your drawing skills seem pretty solid too, its all about practice so post more if you can

@Jack: Thanks! I'm going to try and post on a near daily basis, work schedule permitting.
30 second gestures followed by a little more value study. Maybe I'll get around to working on something less boring soon.

I agree, really strong technical drawing and painting =) Love the speed painting.

I agree, you are on the right track. And yea the basic stuff can be boring, but who says a sketchbook can't be boring. Keep practicing!!

I like those lighting studies a lot! As well as that study you feel wrong for doing hahaha, who says that googling reference is wrong? There are better places but do what you like xD It is practice and it turned out well, so there is no wrong in it.

Thanks to all who posted words of encouragement It means a lot to me.
But sorry to blow the "solid technical drawing" consensus out of the water, because the past couple days and this morning have been days of complete fuckaroundery ... I just needed to have a little fun.

I was going to offer you critiques for your drawings because you were kind enough to post suggestions on my sketchbook thread, but I can't really think of anything I can suggest that will help you improve. I apologize for not being able to return the favor. Keep up with your drawings, I'll keep an eye out for your stuff.

@Psyner: Don't worry about it, I appreciate you stopping by regardless. If you ever do see anything that needs improvement please let me know
I added blue to my palette today :I ... Just blue. Taking this color thing nice and slow, one step at a time.
Need to do more of these figure studies. There's going to be open figure drawing classes on Saturdays at one of the local art galleries that I'm getting pretty excited for. Just waiting for them to get started.

Interesting exercise. I like those gestures, lots of movement. Good job on the old man too! And the girls in post 12 both have some nice flowy hair. This study has nice attention paid to the muscles, the back especially.
