Hi, I use traditional paints and I have a huge problem - I paint way too slow! Ive a short attention span when it comes to painting, only after about a week or two I lose interest in the painting and I just want to start the next one.
But it takes me MONTHS, MONTHS to finish a painting, so its like dragging a dead horse. Just knowing its gonna take me months to finish it makes me lose interest and the whole painting experience becomes stressful instead of fun.
Not only is the slowness making it stressful, its ruining my chances at getting into a gallery. Most galleries around here want you to submit 20 to 15 works of art. And they want those works of art to be recent, no older than three years. I'm pulling my hair out! How can I make that quantity of paintings in three years when it takes me six months to just make one?
So the slowness is beating me up emotionally and practically!
WHO CAN HELP ME PLEASE!
I recieved my BFA years ago, however my BFA did not focus on technique, it was mostly conceptual intellectual stuff I didnt care for.
I would love for someone to teach me the ways of how to accomplish a painting in a month or less, IN A MONTH OR LESS OMG. That would be a miracle. Thanks so much. Here is one of my best - six months later I had a stomach ulcer - lol-damn.
