Hey man, nice progress there. I think that your drawing skill art getting better and better. Loomis uber alles :-) Nice proportions and hands.
But I think that your painting, your portraits, need more contrast. I dunno, maybe you should work in black and white to study values. Btw, this is imo your best portrait.

Great studies, maybe try pushing the darks in your digitals, a lot of it seems really light. Anyway, keep it up.

Good going, keep working hard and pay extra attention to really nailing all proportions in your drawing. Spend as much time as you need on really nailing your studies, don't worry about quantity much.

Started using pen pressure to control opacity again after stopping for a while, finding it hard not to make everything muddy. Heres a skull from life which is muddy and a photo study of a lady where i messed the head up completely

Been drawing some vehicles, apologies for the poor quality; these are photos rather than scans.

I need to start aiming to update everyday. I have some drawings that i haven't uploaded but i think it would be easier just to post the things that i have done on the day that it do them, mostly because i am lazy and re-sizing images is tedious. Heres the stuff from today, sorry about the quality i'm drawing on a3 paper so i cant scan it. Also a digital wip that i really can't be bothered with.

Two still lives of ann onion in different lighting, which i wish i spent more time on. Some head studies from photos and some shameful heads from imagination haha as well as gestures and hands.
October 17th, 2012, 06:10 PM
Not my most productive day, but onwards and upwards. Some poor quality photos of poor quality drawings here, one of which is is a Sargent master study that was very humbling. Also been trying to draw from imagination more as it is a good way to pinpoint weaknesses.

October 23rd, 2012, 06:27 PM
Think this makes it pretty much up to date, gestures and usual stuff. I need to slow down and actually complete something, also i feel i am getting better at drawing from imagination which is good.

Something a bit original.

That last thing's a nice experiment, just watch the shadows on his face. It gets particularly wonky around the nose. In general, you observe well, but you could put a bit more swing into your lines, like a bit more holistic approach if you know what i mean?

wintery scene, heavily referenced but i wouldn't say that its just a study.

Looked through the SB and i can definetly see the improvement, the amount of life drawings is very good and essencial to understand anatomy, perspective, etc.
So all i can say is to keep on practicing and always correcting yourself.
I find that measured drawings paired with more gestural/free drawings of the same subject really help to understand what i am studying, they also train the eye very well!
Good work and Merry Christmas!
