Pretty random sketchbook stuff
Ive also been painting a lot and now have loads of them on the go at the same time, keeps me busy
Finished piece I've been working on at school
Sketching with paint on a painted over canvas
Thanks for stopping by
The last 3 days I've been in London at Lavender Hill Studios doing the emerging artists course. Basically learning as much as possible in such a short space of time, and giving us the skills so that we can go away and keep improving with a fundamental structure behind our paintings. Its fair to say that it was absolutely amazing, I earn so much, the people there were so nice and id recommend taking courses there to anyone
So heres the work i produced from the week:
Cast work, proportions, Chiaroscuro (light and shade)
Still lifes, applying colour
The website is http://lavenderhillstudios.com/ if you want to check it out
And these short articles cover the majority of the stuff on the course so definitely check them out! Link
Cheers man, you too
So apparently it was self portrait day yesterday and no one told me, so I've done one today instead
Trying to apply what i learnt on the course I set up the lighting as dramatic as i could, not sure id be able to use the same techniques to the same effect with more natural lighting
Crits and comments always welcome
Real nice paintings, and your head drawings have gotten a LOT better! Keep it up
Thanks Im glad you've said that, I've spent more time on that that anything else i think so I'm glad its noticeable
Once again, taking ages to post :/
Oh well, here goes
Life drawings - 2 weeks worth
Fun with pens in my little sketchbook
Also, i just bought a new sketchbook However I'm only about half way through my current one so I'm going to aim to finish it by christmas (should be about a page a day) so i can start on my nice new one Another small way of motivating myself to draw more...
Thanks for looking
hey hey, i like your brush pen stuff. it's looking so clean and sketchy at the same time
and you had life drawing classes ? damn i'm jealous, damn.
keep working (:
Holy cow those portraits and other paintings you did from your class.... Such awesome improvement!
You seem to be far more comfortable creating compositions using the brush instead of the pencil. That's really interesting. Keep up the hard work!!!
I think you are very talented. You're only 16 and you're already so good.
Anyway, I noticed that you have issues with proportions with face and body. I suggest that you should get familiar with the technique, "Sight Measurement". It will help with that issue. I will post the links about sight measurement.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks Syle yeh i know what you mean, i think its just that i spend far more time if i know I'm going to develop it further than just a sketch.
Raho - well 17 now, but thanks so much Yeh I've been working on that with my life drawing classes, guess it still needs much more work
A few quick sketches from stills of galdalf in lord of the rings, flower and minimal line face
Thanks for looking
Haven't done any sketchbook stuff in a while, but it seems I've been spending most of my time painting
A3 Study, i don't think the water worked on this one, waves not right
A4 studying Alrasyid's paintings
A5, very quick study from the same artist
A4, very quick study of my dog
A3, disgusting self portrait. i knew the initial proportions were wrong but decided to go on and see what happened, that'll teach me to rush into it
And finally, some hand studies from Bridgman
