I just ordered myself a yiynova 19" off of Amazon.
kingtee does nothing for me. I am strictly Mac. My pen tablet comes in on Thursday.
I can't wait.
I did massive amounts of research on this before purchasing and I honestly don't understand a lot of the reviews I read. People still would rather buy the $2,000 cintiq compared to a $500 alternative THAT DOES THE SAME THING.
I'll list the differences I found between the yiynova and cintiq.
Cintiq 21- 2048
YiyNova 19- 1024
Cintiq 21- 21" - 16.7 million 1600 x 1200 Resolution - Plastic (thinner pen to pixel)
YiyNova 19- 19" - 16.7 Million Colors, 1440x900 Resolution - Glass (scratch proof)
Pen Type -
Cintiq 21- Pressure-sensitive, multi-tip, cordless, battery-free
YiyNova 19- Pressure-sensitive, cordless, AAA battery
Cintiq 21- Microsoft Windows XP (SP2)+, Macintosh® OS X 10.4.8+
YiyNova 19- Support OS:Win7/Vista/XP, MAC OS 10.6x +
Cintiq -$2,000 USD
YiyNova - $500 USD
Cintiq - Good luck
YiyNova - Found out about it, ordered it and will physically have it within 4 days.
From what i read there are some updated drivers that have to be downloaded through the manufacturers website to clear out the bugs on the YiyNova. Some mentioned the balance of the pen being off due to the weight of the battery. Then there are minor isolated glitches similar to the cintiq dead pixel issue.
Overall, the cintiq isn't worth the extra 1500 bucks in my opinion. If i can get the same product for a quarter the price minus a few creature comforts, I'm all for it.
I'll post more when i get to play with it a little.
