man i like ur stuff,
the last model looks a little thin around the feet.
giland.org - my bouldering site
thanks dude. i kinda like the feet that way. we'll see if i change it or not. getting mixed feelings about it
here's another model. 2 days to model, re-model after some critique, and unwrap twice, then textured, hehe. actually this isn't the final texture but it's 2am and i need to go to sleep. just wanted to get this out there for some feedback pld:
here are some designs for my next 3d character. well, sketches. can't seem to come up with anything i like. Paul Richards was a huge inspiration with these. his site was linked in the chat room. this dude is amazing. anyways, i was gonna put up like 6 jpgs but i just threw them all into one file. i've got more to scan but i've gotta get back to my demo reel. have a good weekend everybody
Lovely sketch page, char, I think you're unto something. Crank out more of those. The dog model is way cool, can't really crit it besides liking the design.
Keep it up burrito.
disco: thanks meatball. i have the most fun when i draw cartoony like this. i might stick to it for awhile and see where it goes. thanks for the encouragement
fooxoo: that dog is ruthless and ugly. he's a KILLER! wtf you talkin about girl???
asoir: thanks dude, appreciate it =)
here's something i was doodling on yesterday in between normal map renders and a bunch of other 3d stuff.
oh yeah, i changed him up a bit. forgot i didn't post the updates here, been hanging out on polycount, hehe
You scumbag, you changed the model with the threat of being emasculated by groove.
no, he promised
Hey, thanks for popping into my sketchbook. I really like your stuff. The 3d works are looking nice. I like the characters especially. I hope I'll start learning to make something like those soon. And your sketches are sweet as well.
cool shit mang. that dog is fucking awesome!
i like the big guy too, but the texture on the inside of his forearm seems a bit... odd....
i wouldn't know where to start fixin that .. i dont know shit about 3d.
what prog u usin? max? maya? lightwave? cinema4d?
i see it in the printscreen above.
man, you've got some seriously badass stuff here. the 3d is rockin; i'm going to school for 3d, it's actually a game design degree but i dont like 3d as much as i like 2d, i'm sort of shooting for a concept artist position, still have a ways to go. anyway, yeah, your 3d is really nice, and your sketches are great. this is my fav: http://polylover.com/DailySketchbook...APR/ohyeah.jpg do you know how to set something like that up from a laptop? know any websites that say how to set that up? anyway, keep it up man.
"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. kuroart: no problem man. i'm digging where your art is going, just keep at it!
asoir: yeah he does! i can see it, hehe. and thanks =)
josh: thanks man. appreciate the feedback. i've gotten some comments about the arm texture already. i'll touch it up this week. hope you're doing well. save me some of those pain killers the doctors gave you =p
artzealot: thanks dude. glad you like my sketches. i feel the same way about 3d and 2d. i went to school for 3d just to learn how to make quake 2 models but inside i feel more like a concept artist. but i like having the mixture of both. i wanna be like MoP, bobotheseal, poopinmymouth and pior roberson. those guys do both and they're rawk! as far as hooking up your laptop to your tv, it depends on your video card and the plugs in the back of your tv. consult google =D
sorry i haven't updated. i've got some doodles sitting around but i've been so busy getting this new 3d stuff together that i'm too tired and lazy to scan the 2d stuff. anyways i'll update soon with more stuff if i get a chance to scan everything, if not then you'll just have to do with this digital sketch! see you guys and thanks for the comments!
don't everyone comment at once! gotta conserve bandwidth!! lollerz
anyways, i managed to get myself to the tuesday night drawing workshop again. thank god, i missed that place =) i gotta thank my ex for dumping me cause i'm alot closer to it that before, muahahahaha
so i wanted to try something new. i was inspired by some of the folks over at polycount like per and pior who build up their models by just laying down polys and not worrying about edgeloops and crap until afterwards. just getting form down, etc. like drawing, but in 3d
so, here you go:
my very own laptop is on my priority list just so i can do just that. practice this l ike a mofo. also gotta hop on zbrush some more. i bet i can get more done there
thanks dkounios. here's some more for ya!
for the 100 gesture tdome. the rest coming soon!
oh yeah, and a bigger version of the 3d one. i worked on it some more
here's an actual pencil drawing of the model that i did after the batteries died. forgot i had this, hehe. oh, and another character i'm working on for my reel. havefunkthxbai~la
always fun to cruise in here and see what you are up to
To see the world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wildflower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour.
What are you working as atm Character?
Burrito, you're becoming more and more hate-worthy...
haha, no shit. this last batch of sketches rock bro, some of the best stuff i've seen from you for sure.Originally Posted by evildisco
awesome stuff. you should do more characters in that style, do the king, the bumbling idiot stableboy, a maiden, a theif... it'd be cool to see some animals in this style too, horses, pigs, chickens, etc. haha
you could make a whole world, just pick three different characters, three different animals, three different environments (cottage in woods, castle, dungeon), maybe three different forms of transportation(carrige... uhm...catapult?...uhm...fruit wagon?), and BOOM you're set!!
cool shit mang, keep it up!!
^hehe... i fell like i just handed out a homework assignment...

Meatball: that is my goal! muahahaha!
josh: totally man. i'm having alot of fun drawing like this. we'll see what happens in the next few days =)
was cruising through dougbots sb. hadn't been there in ages. glad i did. got inspired and stayed up drawings these guys instead of going to sleep. i drew more but they were crap. would like some crits, like, from the whole sketchbook, or at least the last 2 pages please =)
I look forward to every update
( How does the life drawing room work at your college? Just a little interested what it is...maybe my school has one )
