Didn't know if this actually belongs here since I have more or less declared this piece for very dead!
I screwed up the shadow colors to the point of no saving, at least not with my abilities :p Just looking for feedback on what went wrong!
This is actually my first colored painting "from life". Usually with color I use imagination and otherwise photos, and with photos it's so much easier because I can just color pick them.
So while I try to respect my current skill level, I just ask for specific advice on a few isolated things.
Well, I couldn't get a proper ref photo out of it, so unfortunately I can't show what I mean
1) The shadow on the banana from the orange... I saw (perceived) blueish/greenish/orangeish brown in one huge mix, and missed all of them turning the shadow into mud! The first scan is before darkening it to look like the original, but the shadow here is closer to the real shadow. The second scan overall looks more like the original, and it should be pretty clear how crap the shadow is.
2) The reflection of the fruit is waaay off! I perceived the reflections as color on top of very dark, which I know is my lack of observation skill that makes me perceive it like that. But how do I translate all this into a proper color?
All considering I am satisfied with how the orange turned out
-And yeah, it's painted in my journal :p
So if anyone could please give some feedback to how I should have handled the colors it'll be highly appreciated!
