more thumbs for hungry art eaters....
i used ref on the first 2, last one is smth stmh....
hmmm...you have ideas and also talent but i suggest you should make much more full bodies from referene..not just faces..you have more problems with the body overall than just the face Work on the things you need most and leave the rest for later ...well just my 2 cents
btw i really like your faces
corky13 - Thanx!!! Glad you like them. You are definitely right, i have to do more full bodies!!!
hey fut it looks like you're already having some nice improvement in your drawings. The renderings is looking good, although you should really try to do some life drawing from real people instead of from photos if you get the chance. It is probably one of the most important excercises to improve your drawings!
JackalAnubis - thank you!!! Im glad that someone sees improvement in my work cause i have worked quite hard. At first i have to start practicing life drawing on my family, i think they will agree to pose to me.
nothing serious this time, being very busy cause school started again.
couple of quick ones
hy, sry for not posting so long time but i have been busy with school, the damn thing started again , now i have once a week a drawing class in school, the teacher is an artist so its a serious drawing class, here goes...
the first one was inspired by Mike Corriero´s dino hunters, quite proud about the result
this one is a WIP, i started it at school and i hope to finish it as soon as possible
hy again, i have 2 pics to show ya. first one is the WIP picture i finished and the second is some girl, had a ref with that one. the scanner what i use makes the pencil strokes stick out on the girl picture, it looks much better in my sketchbook.
finally.......some new drawings
today i have only 1 pic to show, school and volleyball practice are taking most of my time...........grrrr.......actually i only grrrrr to the school, i like volleyball
it has been a quite long time since i last posted here, these first 2 are very simple sketches to get some ideas, these are for the East-European Thunderdome.
And one painting, some things i will try to fix.
Time to post again !
One brand new qouache painting, took about 2 hours.

Well here goes...my name is Mikk Herde, im from Estonia, Tallinn, Im 17 years old...ill be 18 in january. I started drawing seriously in january this year, i hope i will be drawing for a very long time. I like soccer and volleyball also . Thats it.
And here are the pics....
(im getting paid for this one =) )
this is from one of Wes drawings,I liked this face so had to draw it.
and now i want to hear some comments...
wow, You're laying down a lot of lead. Looks good. I wish I had started taking drawing seriously at your age. You've defenitely got some talent and dedication, man. I would agree with what was said earlier. Work on bodies more. I can tell you love doing heads, but there is soooooo much more to learn. Pick up some anatomy books and start doing studies. Try out Loomis, Bridgeman, Hogarth, all those guys. Start doing machinery and car studies. So much to learn, but you've got a great start already. I don't see anything in between you a high skill level besides hours logged into sketchbooks and deep study. Keep at it.
auden100 - thanx, i really appreciate it. True, i like drawing heads. But i HAVE to start drawing bodies and i will do it. I also have to start drawing more than usual.....I cant believe it myself how busy i have been lately, school-volleyball practice-driving school-school and so on.Thanks for the couragement.
elfsh - I already have that link but thanks for reminding.
New pics coming soon!!!
That's some amazing progress you've made on this few pages. Your rendering skills are soooo much better than in the start. As some of the people said before me - anatomy of the whole human body needs some working on. I really liked your last batch - you've really made a huge step over only a few months - keep it up - i'll drop by sometime to see how're you doing.
Oh and one more thing - i've noticed bigger breaks between posts lately - one of the most (if not the most) important things for a rookie artist is to work every day. Not every drawing has to be good but the process itself always counts as a practice.
thirdeye - thank you, i have noticed that progress myself and im quite proud of that. I like these last drawings the most aswell. I would like to post EVERY day but the problem is that i dont have a scanner, i scan at my mothers workplace. I usually draw few pics and then i go to scan them, as i said before i will try to draw more........expecially bodies.
i think you are a pretty damn good painter. i love your water color/ guache paintings. they have a lot of character. keep up the work and start working on more sketches of bodies. don't just stick to the face. great work, and keep posting.
rollb82 - thanks, im glad that someone thinks that way . New painting coming quite soon!!!
less talking more drawing
it looks better smaller
When i saw the portrait of Marko by Andrew i just had to draw it myself, afterall i like to draw portraits, and what an easy way to learn from a pro.
A qouache painting, still working on it.
My second still-life
some cool new stuff....=)
and the sketch
Jokisalo - thx, always glad to hear that . I definitely have to paint more with qouache.
