interesting stuff here in your sketchbook. Nice value studies, thats definitely the way forward if you want to improve. Keep it up
been a while since I post something in my sketchbook been drawing mostly from instinct now trying to not overthink the concept when I always worry too much about details and the composition a rough start but more improvement will be showing soon
A few color and pixar studies just need to work more on refining focals
another color study I think it still looks flat
hey man, those last few studies are great, i wouldn't worry about refining them too much, just work on the composition and value patterns. I think drawing from instinct is good for the thumbnails or roughs, then when you work the design out then get the reference out to fix things.
Them thumbnails are nice, i have to agree with chris, if u can block in what your kinda looking for, then you can just reference and figure out what you need to do, itll save you time and alot of stress...HEY..i should be taking this advice to! and i will today Hope u do too!
A Faux I agree lol
A few more sketches by instinct
still have a lot more ideas in my head still focus on compostion and color studies render however is a different story
still trying to find a brush that feel comfortable with that dont feels too digital
moar sketches as usual
made a few updates on my sketches by refining it a little and added a few details
I thank kapil for granting me permission to do a paint over
just did a little rendering and color I still suck with hands and faces
awesome concepts are awesome! lol keep it up
If I happen to comment on your sketchbook, please don't feel obliged to comment on mine. use that time instead to get back to work.

Diggin those color studies!
this week E.O.W concept I'm doing lately
now I got the value and comp down right only prob with it is my brush strokes and rendering is still beginner
hey udonhead, thanks for stopping by at my sb, I took a look at your sb and don´t think your brush control is bad at all, the trick really lies in a very large canvas, he uses from 6000 pixels wide to 12000, 6000 is not big at all, at least it depends on the machine you have , but another "trick" of feng zhu is his brush, he uses a standard chalk which can do very thin lines to very thick, depending on pressure you can see it when you watch very carefully at his youtube tutorials, other artist mainly sketch with the pencil and pen, but when it comes to sketching on the computer, fengs method is really straightforward
regarding opacity he uses just the opacity slider and set to pen pressure because it doesn´t feel like a traditional brush he says, so maybe try it out with the canvas and the brush if you like
thanks for the advice I had a feeling it might have been the small canvas and I'll try the opacity method with my chalk brush thanks
